pc is the way to go! When i was still at school last year all that was available were those crappy macs, and i slowly started hating those things....WHY DOES A MAC MOUSE ONLY HAVE ONE BUTTON????? Very nice design, but that's about the only positive thing you can say about those infernal macs.

You do realize that just like PCs there are different kinds of Macs, with different parts in them. Since you're in school I'm not expecting them to have great video cards in them, and theres an 80% (made up number from personel experiance) chance that they were running the cheapest computers Apple sells and were more than a couple years old.

PC, but I would play it on my Mac if it could handle it.

yes, but the cheapest mac apple sells STARTS at $735. The really competitive stuff starts at $2000, and I'm not willing to shell out that sort of cash for a computer, so PC for me.

[BTW] I got my pc for $1000, and it is pretty damn good for the price.

I really like macs, they look really cool, and their really nice

that said, macs are kinda stupid, the lack of mousage, the dumb processing, basically, i like pcs because they're made by and for idiots, macs are just too far advanced for me, i think the only thing macs are good for is work

I love both. If I had a mac and a PC, I'd easily play it on both. Give me the equivelant of my sigs PC, and I'll happly play on both.

Hell, throw me in a new Linux box, ill play on that too.

I believe a couple of my pretentious art*** type friends have porsches and bmws. They're perfect for them; dumbed down fisher-price interface (automatic transmission) & basically no user servicable parts (they have to go to a bwm dealer). bliss!

Wow, what maturity. Why do most PC users act like children? Oh, and it's not called MAC, just Mac. Why must you capitalize it? Are you scared of it? Pfft.

Macs are great. I've never owned a Windows computer, and I've no shame. You'll never catch me using a machine where you have to worry about spyware/viruses/worms 24/7 - because Macs don't have any of those (well actually there are a few, but you'd have to be friggin stupid to get one)

I love playing UT2004 on my mac. It handles near-flawlessly, and my system isn't even that great. Before you bash Macs, try a dual G5 running Mac OS X. Try it for a week. Then you can say they suck or not.

We have a very large library of games, and Macsoft is working with others to get Mac games out more quickly. Here's a tidbit : The creator of Doom3 actually loves Macs and wants a release on both systems on the same day.

    So my answer?

    Mac

Yep... I'm not sure about this, but I think AOL started on Macs - or at least the same version came out on both systems when it was first around. Oh yeah, AOL sucks - but it jump-started the internet world.

And of course, that's when you guys started getting viruses

You know that Microsoft's ideas are about %2 original? They were actually sued after 'copying' the Mac's icons way back in the late 80's, but the suit was dismissed. They're most famous original idea? That retarted paperclip!

PC, I have a question though:

Which number is higher, the number of copies of UT2k4-SE sold or the number of people that will play UT2k4 on a Mac?
    :haha:

Mac beats it I would believe. We only have one version - the dvd, and I've seen quite a few mac users playing.

Quite frankly, there is no distinguishing feature of the Mac platform that appeals to me.

With WinXP, Microsoft finally got an OS as stable (if not moreso) as MacOS (the only time I've had a blue screen is when my hard drive died, not exactly Windows' fault), and if you don't like Microsoft, you can alway go with the Linux distribution of your choice.

For a few years now, Macs have used 3-4 month old PC graphics for their computers, so the "Macs are better for graphics work" is now a bunch of rubbish.

Also for a few years now, PCs have had faster, more powerful processors, coupled with faster RAM (just try to get DDR533 on a Mac) and RAID 0 support, there's no way a Mac could beat a PC in batch photo/video processing.

Finally, there's the "classic" arguments about Macs: the lack of software, the price, the proprietarity of its components (gotta get replacements from them at a higher price).

There is no logical reason to get one.

I think you know which platform I play UT2K4 on.

    PC, always have, always will.

I don't think I could stand using a Mac and not being able to tinker in the BIOS/OS, get that nth% of performance out of it

not to mention all of my fav. games use DirextX O_o

Macs are good and all but they are more expensive less software and dont get some hardware. I hate the OS so much, but that's just me.
