    Default Possible to get voices through usb headset and sound thru speakers?

    i have my socom usb headset that works,people can hear me but when they respond there voice is thru the speakers. is there a way to get just their voice in my headset and everthing else thru my speakers? im using windows xp.

    I don't think so dude, you're talking about actually splitting the sound channels. You can however get both their voice and the game sounds through the headset if you so desire.

    well the socom headset only has 1 earpiece so the sound would really suck. maybe we can request this as an update in a patch or something. cause it renders voice chat nearly useless to me,and im sure many other people.

    It'd be pretty hard to code it that way. you'd need to send the voice through another sound channel, it'd be much more of a hassle. So that's why I have a mike not a headset.

    so pretty much everyone is forced to have everything thru the speakers or everything thru a headset? oh well.

    If you had a real headset you could split your front speakers so you could get sound from both. I think this would have to be a directx update or something and it sounds like it would be hard to do, but granted they do it on the XBOX.

    Yea you can get sound from both, but you can't filter out the voice channel so only the voice comes through headset. If you can, damn man props

    headset AND surround?

    You're soundcard has to by mutlichannel. Set it to thus in your sound properties and plug your headset output plug into the center channel port thing in your sound card.

    Sorry, forgot to mention I have a surround sound setup, and a USB headset.....

    Ooooo, hang on, in your drivers can you configure which port is your center output? If so just bump it over to the usb port. weiiiiird. lol
