Just clear the child pornography from your home computer and install a server on it.Originally posted by ass2inagain
instead of looking at ur code, itd be easier to find a server and see if it lets me on. Probally wont though...gotta find a new way now

If Anti TCC finds a modifications it will do whatever the server admin told it to do, usually that's kicking the player.Originally posted by CatShaver
so what are now the consequinses when someone uses a brightskin, he cant connect to server right ?
or not :S

This is nice wormbo, however I cannot use this until TTM has a stable working version. We know that TTM is going offer team colors for all skins and we dont know how bright they will be. A compromise will need to be reached between epic, ttm and you wormbo on how bright skins will be.

According to what I heared, TTM won't have custom skins...

<delete me> double post
I'll keep using them, the servers I play on won't use Anti-TCC anyway
Otherwise most of the regular players of those servers would be banned, heh.

As I said before: skin checks can be disabled.

Why do people cheat? what sort of satisfaction do you get at paying for a game,. not learning how to master it properly and then climb a ladder by the use of a computer controlled piece of software that aims for you?
Its a bit sad isnt it? but it shows that there are lots of people out there not willing to take there time to learn something, a case of the instant/i want that now culture that seems to be around us all.
I think atari/epic should stop the stats,... that would make cheating pointless, and provide a more fun game.
Seriously, checking the skins used is really ****ed up and should be off by default. I hope this is not installed on the servers I play on if skin checking is on.
Why is it ****ed up? Use the serverside options that are available instead --> http://www.esreality.com/?a=post&id=641964Originally posted by Tropic

if you disable skin checks you open the doors to a hell of a lot of other hacks besides bright skins.
ie
invisible skins
black skins
skins that could crash your server

Nice to see Anti-TCC for ut2k4. Curious which one is going to win, Anti-TCC or UT-Secure.
But i've got a minor question. Since this is the LE version is their also a not LE version arround? If the answer is Yes, what are they extra options/features?
Installed Anti-TCC successfully at my servers, but players experience a one second freeze one second and 26 seconds into each game.
Anyone else experienced this? What's the cause and what can be done about it?
Got this as well, was testing in a lan situation, it was an all of a sudden lag spike, then gone.
Yep, other people have experienced that as well. A few admins have got rid of Anti-TCC because of that.Originally posted by Aames

You forgot the most important one and the main reason for the no brightkins and thats the triggerbot!Originally posted by [NBS]Flak

Play on a server that lets you have brightskins you are either asking to be cheated or plan to cheat yourself.
What kind of FUD is that to spread? What an ignorant statement.Play on a server that lets you have brightskins you are either asking to be cheated or plan to cheat yourself.
A highly ignorant statement indeed, however, I do feel that brightskins alone are a *cheat*, they improve visibility immensely, when visibility isn't SUPPOSED to be that high. Why else would the TTM people (bless their cotton socks) have agreed to not include neon skins in the 2k4 version?
If you really *need* brightskins, chances are you really need glasses, the built in player-glow and bforcedefaultmodels=True should be enough, in my case (and probably many others) just the player glow is sufficient.
Aaaaaaand he continues his idiot rant....
The possibility of triggerbots is also a serious consideration. A relatively well known (if not respected) member of the UT2003 instagib community was recently 'outed' as having used a triggerbot in official iTDM matches
On a more on-topic note, excellent work wormbo, you're a true credit to the community.![]()
Ignorant question follows:
Will you and Epic work together? Unless I am mistaken it seems like two common goals with two different things. Put em together, or at least work together might improve the final product and the community more effectively.
Bash me for being ignorant!![]()
long way off ignorance there, best idea I've seen all day, and I've been awake nearly 2 hours now, so that must be a pretty damn good idea![]()
Ok. So it's either cheating, or they need glasses. Give it a rest guys... You'll see servers that have bright skins and hit sounds popping up. nobody wants to cheat with skins.. People want servers that run it, is all. Some are willing to go to the lengths to make it happen regardless. KIND OF LIKE HOW PEOPLE HACKED THE DEMO TO RUN MUTATORS. I didn't say **** then.. In my mind, what reason is ther? People like the game and that's good enough for me.

tested this on a server last night, and had lag issues almost instantly
fresh install of the game, no mod's / brightskins ect...
meh![]()

Sorry about the one-second-freeze, I'll try to get rid of that for the next version.
Yes, we kinda work together finding out about potential exploits and the like.
This version is called 'Lite', because there's another version for UT2003 in the works. That will be v1.12.

Ignorant? Not at all, it is more like you’re to inept to grasp the obvious so let me spell it out for you again! The fact is triggerbots will not work with stock out of the box skins but will work and work well with the brightskins. Therefore if you play on a server that allows brightskins you are either asking to be cheated by those with triggerbots or you have one of your own.Originally posted by sheki

As for the lag thing; I for one can put up with a second of lag knowing I am playing on a server with cheat protection and I sure hope admins do not pull it off because of this minor annoyance.

do you people have to make every ATCC thread into a brightskins debate ?![]()
Its OLD. If you must do it, make a new thread![]()
It's interesting to see that FOV alterations can get you kicked from a server using this mutator.
I have an OnRelease alias set up so I can switch to 80 FOV when it's held down, and back to my normal 110 when I release it. I'd try it out on a server right now, but I'm at the GF's house (and her POS system can't run 2k4) for the better part of the day today.
Is this alias going to get me kicked when I use it?
SHIFT=FOV 80|OnRelease fov 110
Edit: Hmmm... just noticed that the warning message listed in your manual says that "You just used a SET command to change your zoom level"... and I didn't use a set command in the above. I frankly haven't even tried to use that string of commands to go tighter than 80 because I mainly wanted to remain within the constraints of the options menu on the low end (it only goes up to 100 which isn't wide enough for the Quake player in me). I'm REALLY curious if AntiTCC is going to boot me when I go from 110 to 80. Can someone try that out for me?
We've lived with brighskins just fine through out the 2k3 days. Where were you?
As a matter of fact, the only bots I have ever seen were in ut99 and 2k4.. Maybe it's just my experience, but give me a break, aimbots aren't that wide spread, and the ones that do exist don't even use color.
Get a clue, before you pronounce anything.

Folks, if you want to discuss brightskins, make a new thread.
If you want to flame others, do it somewhere else.
If you want to complain about cheaters, join the flamers.
If you got hold of actual cheats and think we didn't see them yet, please email them to Joe Wilcox (Dr.Sin) or me.
Now let's get back to actual Anti TCC feedback, please.

"Zoom Cheat" means you DID NOT use the FOV command or a sniper weapon to change the zoom level, but actually tried to zoom in e.g. to FOV 30 with a non-zooming Instagib rifle using a console command. It won't happen to you when using the FOV command, which is limited to 80-170 anyway.

sheki,
FYI; Aimbots and Triggerbots are two completely different types of aiming hacks, aimbots aim and fire for you triggerbots fire at enemy team color.
Cool deal. And my key has a couple of uses... not only does tightening the FOV lower the field of vision, it feels like your sensitivity drops because the crosshair moves the same speed, but is actually passing over less of your surroundings. Makes Minigun, Shock, and Lightning Gun use a lot easier. (and it makes the cool zoom in sound when you change your FOV like this too).Originally posted by Wormbo

For the love of God put brightskins in Wormbo. If you're worried about trigger bots then just allow the ziwa skins and dont allow any unknown packages, but no-ones gonna put up with epic's skins in their current state.
