Default Has anyone tried a NO-CD/NO-DVD patch to fix the GPF Problems?

I was just wonderig if any of you have tried a No-CD/No-DVD patch to fix the Genral Protection Faults with the game?

Before ANY of you start saying the word "Warez". You had better know that I actually for once in my life OWN and PAID for my SE DVD. So I dont want to hear anything about it. Thank You

put it in you ut2004/system folder. Backup the original exe first in case the patch looks for any tampering.

It's amazing the size difference in the cracked exe and the protected.

Thanks for the link. Got it downloaded and things now run flawlessly. When will companies learn that Securom protection is A) a joke and B) disruptive to their customers? It's just sad.

IIRC, SafeDisc and SecuRom are the 2 most popular forms of protection.. And if SecuRom > SafeDisc, then I don't think a bad decision was made.

epic needs to make their money. while it seems to be an easy way around, it does stop some people. but didn't they patch this in ut2003? i thought i remember an old, offical patch that let you play without the cd.

maybe they're are just waiting for sales to level out then release a patch.

Yes, in the latest patch for UT2K3 you do not need the CD in order to play the game.

After the game is outdated Epic always removes the protection in the last patch. Remember it isn't Epic that puts the protection on the game in the first place. Blame Atari.
