    Default Type of mouse

I am currently playing with a Microsoft wireless optical mouse. Is this as fast as I can get or would a cord mouse and or a regular cord mouse be faster? Help!

I've tried a variety of mice and without doubt the pick of the crop is the MX 500 by Logitech. It is simply awesome. You might want to google the MX700 and MX900 as well.
I'm sure there are other equally good mice but this is the best I've ever used

I agree with the batt problem, BUT, I dont have any such problems coz my MX700 came with a charger stand and rechargeable batterys. So whenever a little red LED starts blinking, its just charging it over night. Its very rare - think its once every 14 days or so. Even with around 6 hours computer time a day

Yeah the MX700 is nice. I just bought it a couple weeks ago, and I was worried about how long it'd take to charge the rechargable batteries that came with it. It turns out that you only have to charge them for 15 minutes to get a day's use out of them. It takes 4-6 hours to recharge them fully, but that's easy to do while you're sleeping or something.

As you've seen the MX engine from logitech is the most prefered, by gamers. What used to be called 2x optical (800 dpi) is standard in the MX engine. Most standard mouse run at 400 dpi.

I used to have the M$ wireless intellimouse explorer and I thought it was very good. But I kept hearing that the new Logitech's were awesome for their tacking abilities so I decided to get the MX700. To my suprise, my aim improved instantly.

There are a couple quirks with the MX700 though. :bulb: I liked how the wheel was placed on the M$ mouse - a little higher up which makes it easier for me to use as a button. To use it on the MX700 I seem to also roll the wheel down. And there is also the times when the sensitivity changes for some reason. This seems to happen every 2-3 days, especially when I just diconnected from a server and idle for like 10 minutes. A simple restart of UT2k3 usually fixes this prob.

I highly recommend any mouse that uses the MX optical engine, definately worth the money.

To answer your question, any new generation cordless mouse will track as good as their corded brother.

Has anyone heard about the new Razer mice?

I want to give that one a whirl, I think they've moved away from balls and gone optical like everyone else. The mouse I'm using right now is a Microsoft Optical Blue. It's nothing fancy, but it does it's job.
