    P4 2.8 533
    80 Maxtor 2mb

Most of that looks pretty good, but as for improvements I would say change to DDR400 ram, get a 800Mhz FSB proc. , and either a SATA HD or at least a 7200RPM drive with 8mb buffer. Thats if your dying to upgrade, rumor mill is there will be some really cool new tech coming out soon.

I'd wait with upgrading... the things out now won't give you reasonable improvements fro their price

hey. well still tryin my best to help

I thnik if you wanna use PC3200 Ram you need like a 800Mhz cpu... so there would be no question whether it helps

    but I could be wrong

I would wait another product cycle before upgrading
the 9800 pro isnt that much faster thant the 9700 pro
the 2.8 800 isnt that much faster than your 533
It would be a waste of money imo, since you will spend alot of money only to be 5 % faster
if you wait another product cycle ,everything you want will be cheaper or you can buy something alot better

    good advice m8..

I think ill save my money now...

The thing is, lately I have noticed a bad drop in my system performance... In game it just seems like everybody can move, shoot, faster than me. Its not lag, its foOking annoying.

Im a good player, normally reaching the top of the pack. But as of late Stevey Wonder could own me..

So I was thinking of an upgrade.... but lets face it people with lower specs that mine play & own

    anyway thx for ya input..

If it were me id reformat

    But simple fixes are

make sure you dont have multiple conflicting drivers for ati
here is a guide if you want to be sure they are installed properly
    http://www.tweaktown.com/document.ph...Id=569&dPage=2

Also go into your ut2003/systems folder
and pull the ut2003.ini and ut2003 log file(notpad) out of system and store it somewhere safe.
then start 2k3 and exit it to let it place a default ut2003.ini in systems
you can use your saved ut2003.ini for important d3d settings and favorite list of servers, you can just copy and paste to notpad
But dont copy everything ,because ive found the file builds up over time and decreases performace.

If that confuses you,id just retweak maunually using in-game setting options

What I do is the first time i get 2k3 setup the way I like is just make a backup of your ut2003.ini,then when you notice it performing bad just use it and copy over the existing used ut2003.ini in system

    here is a 2k3 guide
    http://www.tweaktown.com/document.ph...review&dId=392
    It will tell you everything

    Hey m8

Yeah, The last resort was a format.. *He shivers at the amount of tweaking ahead* but me thinks it is going to have to happen... I have tried deleting the ini, even to the point of doing a fresh reinstall ever other week..

    Anyways, who's Bill Hicks..

Because I too have had many good times...

would be a waste of money to upgrade that system. It's like throwing money away, because it's already more than good enough. If you need better frames, o/c that video card a little bit, and maybe bump that 2.8 up to 3.0 ghz if you really need some more performance.
