Unhappy Pea Soup Fog Everywhere _ATI 7500

I just installed Unreal Tournament 2003 on a Windows XP Professional machine.

    512 ram
    Pentium III 800

ATI Radio 7500 ALL in Wonder

    Latest Drivers, latest Direct X

    Soundblaster.

Not the fastest machine, but it works. Except... when I finally get into a level, I am surrounded by Pea Soup of the greenest kind. I can barely see items, but the movement is smooth, and I can shoot into the darkness like mad, until they sneak up on me and hit me with a hambone.

I've set everything ot the lowest settings.... turned off all the extras, tried bumping AA up and down, danced a jig and swung my cat around my head (she didn't appreciate that much), but to no avail.

    Any ideals???

Post Good news! No more pea soup!

I used the "remove everything" tool from ATI to remove every ATI driver file, rebooted, then reinstalled the latest drivers.

Voila! I can now blow away bots whenever i choose!

    Happy Happy Joy Joy!
