Yes, I would love this.
No, this is a stupid idea.
Maybe with some modifications.

Hmm looks quite nice
Except those lights could seriously use a better texture! (or are those actors??)
Otherwise. Not bad at all![]()

Nothing really exciting IMO, altho the graphics are quite nice, but look at the roof and the woodgrain table, it looks like 16bit with those swirls in it, and a little AA wouldnt go astray, those are some of the worse jaggies ive ever seen.... but all in all, quite nice
Not bad. Looks like an advert for Cadburys Chocolate though.
everything is too shiny and those hanging lights dont look too great
the level of detail in the meshes looks cool though

check the other screenshots as well, or do i need to post all of em here :weird:... and tnx for the feedback ...
I tired the techdemo for this a while ago, looks much better now and that was set in a space setting, thank god they changed that idea, after doom3 we can expect 100's of games looking the same set in space.
Thing is with this type of game you need to see it in action. give the tech demo a try if you haven't seen it, its only 30mb or something.
the screenshots are from an upcoming SP game, made by 4DRulers (Gore, the ultimate soldier), SlamSoft (ampII engine) and Activision... more info here:

i think those screenshots were taken on a low end machine (look at the fps counter) to show how well it looked with a GF3 card or some... not the best way to sell your product tho... so yeah, check their ampII demo and see with your own eyes what the engine can do...

Most of it looks cool... but there seems to be a problem with the highlights, which is VERY visible in the screenshot you posted on this forum in your first post. The shine looks like a way too huge reflection a lightsource that isn't there. If something is that glossy,(which isn't very realistic I think) you'd get reflections instead of giant white blots.
Apart from that, it looks kind of cool... but the only things that set it apart from other game's graphics are also also the things that make it look a bit unrealistic.
The graphics are good enough for a modern game. But what is more important is gameplay. Chrome is a beautiful game, but plays miserably thanks to brain-dead AI.
Great gameplay will matter more than your graphics; unfortunately, we can't judge that yet, can we?
nice
That first screen shot does look like the wood is a little too shiny. Unless of course they just used a hell of a lot of Old English on it lol
I like this screen better:

I'm a fan of realistic settings. I dig the drapes and the ambient light coming thru. The SS's were taken on a lower end comp, so it will be cool to see how it looks on a better comp.
As far as gameplay, of course none of us have played it, but something to keep in mind, is that this game is made with AMP2, and Gore: The Ultimate Soldier (made with AMP1) has the best gameplay for multiplayer that I have ever played. Looking fwd to getting a hold of Secret Service 2.
i totally agree with ya... thats why it completely suked when my favorite game (Gore) got wasted by the critics on its looks... that game isnt about looks at all, hell it was build using an completely outdated engine, but the only thing that mattered bout that engine was the way it runs... and it runs as smooth as a baby's buttocks, add the total cool gameplay and we got a winner... i still think all of u hardcore gamers should have a copy of Gore, coz without your collection wont be complete... i like playin UT2k3, great fukin game... same goes for other games like Q3 or WolfET... if its fun then its good in my book... looks are just an extra...Originally posted by Malo Hombre

so why post this, well its not my game, in fact, i think i'll hate it, coz im a MP freak, and cbf bout SP games... Secret Service II (as this game will be called) is SP only... but hey, the game was made by the makers of Gore, with a brand new engine (verzion II of the Gore Amp), so it cant be all that bad...
anywayz tnx for the feedback and keep an eye out...
Yeah for some reason, although it's nice and crisp, it looks very unatural. As if it had been just molded.
Looks like splinter cell, just one notch down.
While not bad, the sheen in the ceiling of that shot remind me of desktop publishing back in the late 1980's when regular people outside of publishing first had access to a myriad of fonts for their work but knew nothing of good design. So, they haphazardly placed different fonts throughout the same document and their work ended up looking like a ransom note. Game designers appear to be making these same mistakes with shaders now that enough users have video cards that support them to justify using plenty of shaders in game. Take Halo for the PC for instance. Im Halo, Gearbox put luster on just above everything in sight without any thought towards the game's story and environments. For example, the floor of almost everything in the Halo looks like bathroom tiles which have just been given that "Futura shine." While it does make for a nice graphical effect, it is totally out of place for the game. I seriously doubt that a space battlecruiser would have flooring that looks like bathroom or kitchen tiles. And, even if it did, I doubt that space marines would have time to keep it so spotless and shiny. The same thing goes for the alien environments and the multiplayer maps. Just because you can put shiny shaders on everything in a game, doesn't mean that you should.
(By the way Sardonic, how about putting up your Gore server mod again that showed 10,000 people playing on it? I still laugh everytime I think about Gore being #6 in Gamespy's stats when you did that.:haha: )
If Splinter Cell uses the Unreal engine, how can it look better when it does not support bump-mapping and the types of shaders used in those shots?Originally posted by Arclite

I don't know if splinter cell used bump map or not.Originally posted by hughbackov

But just because UT2003 didn't support bump mapping, it dosn't mean the engine is not capable either. Any game developed from unreal engine can use Bump Mapping. UT2003 (one particular game) chose not to.
So stop making fool out of your self.
EDIT: Oh what do you know, Splitner Cell does use Bump Mapping.

Graphically this is one of the nicest looking third person games we've seen with the player's character, Sam Fisher, having a very impressively textured outfit and superbly modelled weapons with very fine attention to detail. And for once there's a game that actually uses bump mapping in the textures, meaning things like brick walls and such do have a proper texture applied to them rather than having a bitmap just slapped onto a surface.
I was impressed. Bump Mapping makes stuff look completely amazing!
Why dont more games use it?
| Beware: Deranged Lunatic |
they look ok but it's what it PLAYS like that counts
regardless of WHERE it is set
bumpmappin makes things look really cool, but is it vid.card dependent ??
(i defenitely need to upgrade my GF2 GTS  )
i dont recall doin that, but if i did, then it surely was a cool trickOriginally posted by hughbackov
