I just want to be able to blow up the bodies I see. If I frag some one and they do not explode into giblets I want to be able to finish them off. It's satisfying. Guess I am sick.

UT2004 isn't realistic, but something weird like hitsounds aren't what the game's about either.
It's supposed to require slightly more thinking than say Quake with its hitsounds.
It's a bit harder to judge kills now, which is good.
Of course options are supposed to always be a good thing, but I'm afraid every server would have hitsounds on, and that'd suck.

If with 1 colour skin you're talking about the ability to choose a team skin, either red or blue, in non-team games, yes, more people have been asking about that.

    Bodies turn black after death?
That's not realistic, logical, and it would look stupid.
I don't see how that could add to the game.

Bodies disappear... would be a bit strange, and judging from this thread pretty much nobody would like to see the bodies go, but just the opposite, and I concur.

    No karma.
    Isn't that in already?
    I thought it was...

OK - you gib the bodies lying around while I'm looking for you....

I mean honestly - aren't you there to frag the living?

there was always something satisfying playin LMS on StalwartXL, in the garage hallway, fighting someone and gibbing all the laying bodies around with mis-shots.

It was great. Never had a piece of ass left over.

Im all for options, oh and also, I want spectator cameras! just like the camera floating around in the ut2003 into for singleplayer, and it should be a client-side option as to weather they see them or not, but i think this would be cool for spectating as players might want to pose for the camera like an idiot and then spec watches them get gibbed while they not paying attention lol

I'd been internally debating whether being able to see spectators was fun enough to warrent potentional misuse of the feature when Blood (or maybe it was Blood 2) came out and had this feature.
Spectators were ravens flying around, following you.

    EXACTLY!!! I agree.

I dont really care, I like the green death thing, its kinda neat to watch if your not in a frantic fight. There is one thing I always liked about UT when it came to gibbing though. When you killed someone with a shock-combo their gibs would go flying across the damn map, it was quite awsome. Try doing it on Lava Giant and you will see what I mean

    Hitsounds suck.

The gib system is great in 2k3 but I also wish I could frag bodies.

I say the more well done gore the better, so long as it doesn't interfere with gameplay. By well done, I mean gore that looks good but isn't overkill (like for instance the Gibalicious mod).

I think 2k3's gore and gibs are better than UT's gibs, except there are no bodies to blow up.

    GIBS! All the way!

UT99s gibs were nice but there is still room for improvement.
I would probably increase the average gib-count per kill about 25% while a redeemer kill would have to at least produce about 200% of ut99s gibs per person.

Then of course it has to be damage dependend, if and how intense a body gibs. If it wasn't enough damage to gib the body at all when he was killed the body has to stay arround to be gibbed by any stray rocket etc.

Also blood decals should stay at least 500 times as long as they do now.

And something that would really be cool: If there are a lot of these little blood-splat decals all close together they should be replaced by a larger pool-of-blood type decal. This may even increase performance as less single decals will be drawn on top of each other.

There is a lot of other cool stuff that could be done but probably wont make it into the game EVER. Like the bloody footprints someone mentioned or blood running down the walls to create small puddles on the ground that actually are splippery ...

Of course for all our pro-laming friends out there you should be able to turn of most of these effects on the client side.

All but dead bodies because a "dead-body-filter" is just the next step after TTMs "oh my god i am blind could someone plz exchange all player modell with giant glowing cubes that make noises like a copulating cat when hit" cheats. Of course its even easier to aim for the glowing box in a 1on1 if there arent any old ones left arround on the floor....how skillfull.

So i am a gore loving psychotic? Well i have never done anyone any harm in "real life" and as long as i get my dayly dose of virtual blood that will surely stay that way. kthx bye.

    OK

But droids can explode when they 'die', so this is a solution.

It seems we mostly all want something different when it comes to gibs/deaths/decomposing/de-rezing etc., thus the concensus would appear to be:

Epic should include as many client-side options regarding this as humanly possible.

So long as this doesn't detract from other elements of the game currently in production, I think that would make us ALL happy.

Heck, I wouldn't mind if they released it later on as a downloadable update, either - I'm not picky.
