I've been having a problem after I just installed my copy of unreal tournament 2003.
When I click on the ONLINE/LAN gaming option from the main menu, to play online, I get an authentication failed error - so I can't see anything...
I can't join any game obviously, and I was wondering why it's doing it?
I tried out the demo version - and the online option worked fine...but when I installed my full version, it doesn't seem to connect?
Thanks in advance.
This only seems to happen when you dont have a valid cd-key?
If you do have the orig & vaild cd-key,make sure you have typed it in right.
If it still dont work contact atari support.
yeah, I may have typed it in wrong...
but in order to re-enter the cd key, do I have to uninstall and RE-install the entire game?
also...if I typed in the cd key wrong when I installed the game, shouldn't it have given me an invalid error BEFORE going ahead with the game installation?
well it is possible, though very unlikely, that someone is using a pirated copy with your cdkey. But probably the epic server just had a bug, and rejected you wrongly that one time. YOu can try again, as this has happened to people before. But there is a registry key (assuming you're running windows) that tells your cdkey, although i am not sure if it is just a record from when you installed of a dynamic resource that is acctually checked when you run the game. The key is:
hklm-->software-->unreal technology-->installed apps-->ut2003-->cdkey
/me hopes you know how to use regedit right :/
