Bad Ping - Very Bad - Net Speed Not Working

Hey,

For Unreal2k3 I have this set:

ConfiguredInternetSpeed=12000

Yet it will not change from 8000.

Also netspeed command is not working either. I have reinstall at least three times not after deleteing all registry entries, files, folders, etc.

Same problem. My ping sucks. 145 or so. When I get 20 in other games and i use to get 20 in unreal the last time i installed the game before i reformated awhile ago.

Not sure what the hell the problem is.

Also, if your wondering I have a 1.9mbps connection so it should be fine. That and I even have 145 on a friends t3 when everone else has around 50. I use to have the best ping. Its only unreal2k3 where I have this problem. So I know its the game and not my connection.

Please help.

hey dude

i have sort of a simmilar prob,ive got adsl,so i set ut settings to adsl , the defult netspeed is 10000 but the game gives me very high ping like climes up and down from 100 to 1000.

whats even stranger is that if i keep moving in the game it stays low but as soon as i stop to look around the ping starts climing,

ive tryed changing netspeed in the console and ini file but no good it keeps changing back,so the only whay i can play is if i set it to modem and use dinamic netspeed ,at least i get good ping then "go figure"

this only happend recently i used to have no probs using adsl on ut2003.

but someone suggested that i should get rid of all mods, extra maps, anything but the original game specs,it looks like you have done this with no sucsess,if you find out the cause to unixplaind ping probs let me know too.

um nothing works

Also, when downoading a map or server info while playing online it only downloads at like 3kps. This is from a t3 ok. My friends btw so its fast as hell.

i got a reply from another forem

this guy says you have to go to the user ini, but to change the defult netspeed properly you have to change the propertys of that file from read only to archive, which makes sense but i think its a long shot.its probably why ut wont allow me to play around with defult settings.
all i want is to keep adsl settings with a netspeed of 5000-6000.i still cannot work out why everything was working ok befor but this is more like patching the prob but if it works?

im going to give it a go later but i could do more harm than good

Nither user or ut2003.ini of read only here. That does not work so.

Yea same here dont understand it.
