    Yeah, but AFAIK the Sonic model hasn't been released yet... how's that going?

    If you don't mind I'd like to make a few suggestions for future Sonic-inspired models and maps...

    -For playermodels, you might want to have them based on the excellent Sonic 3 characters, rather than the less good (imo) more recent ultra-spikey, sleek and soulless Japanesey look. Knuckles is probably the best looking of the new-look characters, but I still prefer him in Sonic 3. Also, how about a Super Sonic model? Super Sonic was the only custom char I ever actually liked in Quake 3, and I downloaded a *lot*.

    -For maps, perhaps you could make the scenery just inspired by the Sonic games, rather than 3D equivalents of the maps? It's nice seeing retro-styled Sonicy maps, but Sky Sanctuary or Hidden Palace would fit perfectly into UT2004 without having to use a retro appearance.

    Just my 2cents...

    God this map is so damn cool.

    That secret area is one of the most ingenious ideas I've EVER seen in a map.

    A few suggestions...

    1. Scatter ammo around the map more liberally. It really sucks to run out and have to use yer AR/Shield.
    2. Put in some powerups. I'm sure you can whip up some nifty Sonic-ish static meshes for them. Maybe a mod that makes you smash computer monitors for the 50a, 100a, Health and Double Damage?
    3. Where's the rocket launcher?

    Nice work, this map made me crack up when I first loaded it. :up:

    theres a block within the map that a player can get stuck inbetween. just wanted to tell you that and to thank you for making this map. Its absolutely cool. thanks again and keep up the development of quality maps and mods guys.

    GREAT looking map! I couldn't access it from the menu though, I had to type in its name followed by the 'map' command from the console. How weird.

    Yes I am perplexed as to how you put all your new sounds, textures, meshes and other stuff into one UT2 file; but being on the 'outside' of UT2k mapmaking, that's no surprise

    This map won't appear in the dm section in ut2k4...so i cant play it, if i try opening it directly, i get an error, like every other map, so thats not irregular. (the maps work fine if i open them from the instant action menu, but this one doesnt appear to be there.)

    I have a similar problem to Iggy; the map does not show in-game. However, I can run the map from the maps folder, that works fine.

    then, open it in unrealED (the one with ut2k4) and save it.

    I've tried that, all that happens is it appears in the menu, but when i press the play button nothing happens, it stays at the level select screen.

    Rename the mapfile to a shorter map name.

    Terrain dissapears everywhere for me too, and I have a Radeon9200. Doesn't do it on any other map but this.

    I have raedon 9200(se) and the terrain works fine for me

    it's an excellent map, but sometimes the lift block things froze when i jumped on them?

    1 and 2, very good ideas. 3; there are at *least* 2 RLs in the map that I've found, trying searching a little higher up!

    By the way, I have one more suggestion; either make the area underneath the secret area deadly, or close it so the player can't fall into it. The first time I went in there, I didn't know how to get back down, and thought 'I know, I'll try under here!'

    Big mistake. :/

    Well, if you are planning another sonic map, then please try to make the map play like a DM map, not just some map to run around in. Sonic island looked nice, but gamplay wise, it had none.

    I think he means that if someone's making a Tails the Fox model, will it be able to fly? The answer is, no, unless someone makes a mod to go with it (which is unlikely). Some of the animations might make him look like he's flying, however.

    All of this is moot because AFAIK there's no Tails model in development- same with Knuckles.

    I got a shadow the hedgehog model. someone ripped the 3d model from Sonic Heroes and now its converted to UT2003/4. Problem is i'm having some skinning trouble and i don't have time to work on it. Anyone want to take up the job? send me a PM
