    Default [MAP:DM] Agony][-2003 [BETA FEEDBACK]

    Hi folks,

    This is new remake of one of the best DM maps from Unreal Tournament.
    I`ve tried several Agony remakes for UT 2003, but this is far the best! It has 100% UT feeling.
    However, it is still in beta , (almost done) and some feedback, ideas would be nice to hear.

    Installation
    ------------
    Unzip the file

    DM-Agony][-2003.ut2 into your UT2003\maps,

    agony-strawa2.usx into your UT2003\StaticMeshes directory,

    strawaagony.utx into your UT2003\textures directory;

    Sorry dude, but i liked DM-Agony][ by Xxyz a whole lot more although you've managed to make a very good classic remake of the map :up:.

    Looks good, I'm d/l it now :up: Cheers for the heads up.

    But I hope that the author at least uses some meshes in there somewhere ...

    yeah, map is almost done, just need playability feedbacks, and of course bug reports!
    map size is 1 : 1,2 in comparision to original

    i didnt use meshes in map structure, it is low polygon map and i think there is no need for meshes, (just one elevator)
    anyway i can convert some brushes with higher polygon count to meshes (doors for example) etc.
    plz tell ur feedback after playing!

    yeah this is classic remake, no changes, i just like that map as it is.

    It is a pretty faithful remake, but there are a few scale issues here and there.

    Also, use item pickup point things under the items.

    And the flames made up of the two sheets looks very wrong, as the sheets are not transparent it would seem.

    Apart from that it's pretty good GJ :up:

    Very nice remake. It really feels like you're playing UT. The only thing that i noticed was that the elevator didn't make any noise, but I can't remember it if did in UT. I think you should replace assault rifle with the link gun. Didn't UT have a redeemer up on the ledge too... not that it really belongs in a map this size. Cool map, i hope you release the final soon...

    -I know torch flame isnt ok, Ill take care of it (i had problems with texture)
    -lift scale isnt ok too, no sound on lift (thx to PlickBadger)
    - and about item pickup point , do u mean pickup points under health ?
    -reedemer is in its place , (you havent noticed it PlickBadger), my friend told me bots cant take reedemer, Ill fix that too,
    -and about link gun on ripper place, I just dont know, i think it could be bad for map balance maybe?

    As DM-Agony was one of my favorite maps in UT, I had to check this one out. Great remake - can't wait for the final :up:.

    Pardoning me for extruding myself in your cabin....but isn't this thing a mite bare? Sure it's a remake, but what's this new engine for if we're gonna make all the maps look the same....

    Coz of the moves and weapons. And the layout of the maps, not necessarily the level of detail.

    -torche fixed,
    -elevator resized, added sound
    -added health pickup point
    -some minor path probs fixed
    -some scale issues fixed
    -other things i cant remember

    Doh !!! This map has already been re-made, And the remake rocks because hes updated the gfx well your just using all the same textures.

    Yes, that's all well and good, but why remake it then? Why not just play UT? I figure if it's worth bringing to UT2k3, it's worth updating the visuals; Sure, the gameplay is a bit different with the new moves, but I'd still rather have a map that looks cool and plays well...

    Oh well, guess I'm picky :-\

    Im looking forward to this alot. The other remake was just over done. KISS. Keep it simple stupid.

    There is nothing wrong with the simple textures and few static meshes. If the flow from UT is there, itll be just as good a map as the other..

    just quick update: final version should be relased tomorrow (oops, today)

    As I said before, primary goal was to create simple map with unique UT feeling. There are many (really) players which likes UT more then UT 2k3 and they`re looking for maps in UT 2k3 (because it is the future) where they still can have it. Strawa did good job with it, I think.

    Yeah I like that as well. For me it is all about gameplay, not about engine or smtg like that. This remake of Agony allows you to run this map even on high details without high-end PC.

    Textures are old maybe, but they still perfectly fit in gameplay for this map. And yes, he will relase it today so I`ll post screens & link later.
