    Pretty much final, I've already had beta testing. The bots don't go for the sniper rifle or shield belts, that's the only problem I noticed.

    Just played it, great map. :up: Liked the fact that you have a few dark corners. Again, colours are well done.

    Only complaint I have is that the ambient sounds (wind, water) radius is a little too large. The wind, for example I would have raised a little higher up, so it's not almost always heard.

    Very impressive for a first (UT2003)map. I'm guessing by the quality you mapped for UT?

    Very nice map. Agreed about the ambient sounds. They're a bit loud and therefore ruin the otherwise tranquil atmosphere of the map. Maybe you should tone down the volume of them a bit?

    I like it a lot. I felt a great sense of place in the locale you created. All the different elements (sound, music, textures, lighting and construction) blend together in a harmonious whole. Hehehe, such perfection cries out for a little carnage.

    Lol, while quite different the mood I felt put me to mind of Ulukai's Sun Tzu. That's a compliment as that map was till now imo something of a one of a kind.

    I generally play bigger maps (Tokara Forest, Forest of Giants) but yours is a keeper. Truly looking forward to your next maps. Thanks!

    pretty good for ur first ut2003 map, but i could hear that u had mapped for ut1 - nevertheless great practiced - i like ur style of architecture and i like also the lighting. there is include a bit of the TreeO***es style - i think u know the map, good work for this time...

    im just loading the map and give u my impressions soon

    Well I have tried the map out and as expected it looks really good. The gameplay seems to be pretty good, sadly I found the map maybe a little to small for a 5on5, but I thinks its great for 2on2 or maybe 3on3. Only one thing annoyed me a little bit, is that when you are out in the middle of the map you have no way to get to the upper pathway unless you have translocator enabled, thats the only thing I could think off. But really a great map Angel Mapper you truly know your stuff. Still waiting for Thalassia looks like its gonna be great

    Looks good and plays well but i have to agree with Grim, a little too small for me. But still a great map thats a blast to play. And i love the top above the flag rooms, sniping down on people through the crack is alot of fun.



    Anyhow great map and cant wait for the next one

    I just made a bloody mess all over one of the most gorgeous maps I've played in the new year.The Garden runs so smooth my machine didn't know what to do(it's used to hicuping on some newer custom maps,2019 anyone?) I must have Thalasia now Angel, you can't keep us waiting. I don't play much CTF either and I starting to enjoy it more. Thanks for your wonderful work.Is there a trick to get to the sheilds ???

    I keep finding weird tricks to getting up to certain places, all I need to do is figure out a way to get to the roof without the t/l and it will all connect. From the roof you can double jump to the arch that is shooting sparks, then from there double jump to the tree and up to the very top roof.

    This has to be the best small user CTF I've played so far. Excellent performance and great gameplay. Gaurding the flag is tough work with all the ways to get at it. Thanks for an incredible CTF.

    I would agree but it's not us who decide.

    I love the map, nice size and fast gunplay. I do think it's a tiny bit too dark in places but apart from that great stuff.

    Default Skybox missing

    AngelMapper,

    I uploaded your map to my server and my clan members and i were playing it last night. The map rocks, but i happened to look up to check out some shooting stars and noticed that the skybox is missing. I'm not a mapper, but I've seen several other maps that had this issue. I believe the following thread contains the answer on how to fix it.

    ive just played dm-gardenofheaven and its one of my fave ut2003 maps now :up: - the gameflow and atmosphere is as great as dm-treeo***es, br-lionsgab and br-twintombs - i love it, the emittereffects and soundatmosphere is wonderful working together, the balance of the ways is good, the lighting altogether very excellent. like said, besides the other called maps my favorite... and i like the song, too, but i know this one is of lionsgab

    keep the good maps coming! cliffyb, ownage it!

    Angel I'm hooked on CTF fanx to you and your wonderful map.My m8s and I played on lan for 2hrs last night. Tried a shield jump off the middle platform to the powerups works like a charm,but I'm still shakey at that skill. Could you be a sweetheart and gives us an ETA on CTF_Thalasia Though the Gardenofheaven is Definite OWNAGE I've been wanting since the first sceenies.Just a lil hint....Please. I'll beg if it helps.

    Hmm.. "When it's done"? Seriously, my 3d Studio Max broke, I have to figure out what's wrong with it before I can continue. That and I'm starting on that Tamearia mod, so it might be awhile.

    I'm simpathetic to 3DSM problems after I built my new Rig and try reinstalling I had big probs with CDilla and the new network that work started I have to reinstall every 15 days to get anything done. Playing with MaYa PLE to see if I like it. Might just wait for the GMAX game pack for UT2k3. I'll be waiting for any of your work.I just Love the garden

    Hey Rachel, this is a great map. The layout is really fast paced and everything looks good. FUN FUN FUN.

    Only problem was bots getting stuck in a "translocator loop" trying to get on the upper deck in the bases. The puck was missing by like 1 inch or something, and they kept trying and trying... Oh well, I'd rather play with humans anyway.

    I do agree with the others that the ambient sounds were too loud. Its a little strange when the waterfalls and everything are louder than the gunfire and radio voices. I am surprised your beta testers missed such an issue.

    Anyway, everythings great except for hte sounds, and you are right; the emmitters look a lot better than I expected them to. Surprisingly, because they usually look like crap in other maps when viewed close up and the angle varies so much. Maybe its because you didn't use them over a large area so its less noticeable.

    Whatever, good job. Just watch out for those full volume sounds next time.

    Has anyone ever been infront of a flowing waterfall?????
    IT'S LOUD If you go to Niagra Falls you have to shout to the person next too you.
    I think everyone that has a problem with the sound has a screw loose it's fine, this Map is damn pretty to look at and a helluva lot FUN to play. so quite nit picking CTF_GardenofHeaven beats any stocker map hands down. have FUN

    I dont think the waterfalls in the map are the size of Niagra Falls.

    Anyway, I don't want the ambient sounds louder than the gameplay sounds.
    So quit nitpicking my nitpick and HAVE FUN.

    it looks pretty... but i get a feeling that it needs to be BRIGHT daylight outside

    i heard "garden of heaven" and thought brightly lit blue skies with tons of clouds and lots of green

    a nice daytime feel would be great IMO

    I'm not picking your pick Plumb nor do I want to aurgue.It just I haven't really noticed that it is louder than my action effects or not gonna play it again now, to see .

    OK I'm back and played with no bots just took a look and listen Angels sound mix is pretty solid I mean add the soothing music (her own I believe she is a dj)4 water falls the reverb in the spawn room (virtually, I mean she thought of what it would sound like for real) Its not like you can hear the crickets in the flag room add in 8 pals blooding the place over all the ambience is Rawkin even if it is loud And after 10mins I had to pee.
    There is a post about Cliffy's Ownage and it's in accuracy in picks this map owns and nothing. Ambient sound mix is a really small small thing when the big picture is just awesome meshes, textures, pathing, lighting, flow, and the biggest one of all Fun factor

    I agree. I like the map, like I already stated.

    I was just pointing out that the sounds were too loud, that's all.
    Granted it was already said a few times, but not by me, hence I felt the responsibility to say it becasue in my opinion, they are overly loud. If I was beta testing hte map I would have definitely said something. It's too late now, but it doesn't change the fact.

    After playing I agree that it's loud But It's well balanced I kind of like the fact that I still here it all along with the fire fight happening.
    OT; I read your post about the sound of the Goopgun Loading I never thought of it before.I hear mine when it's loading never think to listen for another nobody really uses it.I do hear the Mini and the RL of others have tokeep my ears open

    Hey thanks for noticing.

    It's too hard to tell if the sound can be heard third person or not becasue there is no other way to know if someone is charging up (i.e no animaitons for it, and it doesnt automatically fire at its peak, like the RL). So I guess the only way to tell for sure is to ask someone to stand next to you and charge it up to find out.

    I'll have to try.

    Its easier to figure out hte Rocket Loader isnt making a sound becasue you cant hold on to the rockets as long as you want. So if someone lets loose with 3 rockets you know they had to have charged them up in the last 3 seconds, and if you were near them you would know if a sound was made or not.

    With the goop you can run around with a full load hte whole match if you wished. It would still be nice to know if someone was charging goop near you tho, I mean, there is no reason to cut corners on these things just because the mass majority hasen't complained.
    Epic should have more pride in perfecting the product themselves, instead of pretending nothing matters unless we bring it up 200 times.

    That is why I love the goopgun sneaking up with a full load and SPLAT and I agree but If we keep finding things that are wrong the longer the wait for the BonusPack(only 2 weeks more I hear ) How is that new patch I'm still running 2179 have yet to install 2181 ???I still have to listen for NYGrrl's water sound while walking also still haven't noticed if that was fixed yet.

    I purposely made the sounds louder than I would normally have, usually the ambient sound is drowned out by the firefights and you don't hear most of the ambience a mapper puts in.

    After playing the map a few times I've changed my mind about the ambient sounds being too loud. They do seem about right when in a firefight. Either way, it's a great map Angel_Mapper :up:.
