The gun does not work in online play, but it should still be fun playing with it on your own for now. Description: This energy weapon requires more skill to use effectively than most, but the results are well worth it. Primary Mode: Fires powerful bouncing splash damage projectiles while engaged, but be careful not to wasted them. Every shot will deplete some charge from the weapon, which will replenish slowly while not firing. The remaining charge is indicated the pink bar on the weapon's HUD. Secondary Mode: Click and hold to start charging a vortex projectile, up to a maximum charge. When released, both players and projectiles will be pulled towards the vortex with a force depending how much it was charged. For every projectile that enters the near vicinity of the vortex, the vortex will gradually turn from blue to pink indicating that it is gaining additional power. If the vortex gains enough power, it will explode instead of dissapating. Tertiary Mode: While a vortex from your gun is still in the air, hold the secondary fire mode to pull the vortex backs towards you. Be carefull not to hold it too long, as the effect is cumulative. ********************************************** IMPORTANT! Tips and tricks: As stated about, it takes a certain amount of finesse to make effective use of the weapon. Here are some suggestions: 1. Charge and fire a large vortex, and then immediately fire your bouncers into it so that it becomes very powerful and explodes. 2. Remember to use the tertiary mode to slow down the flight of the vortex, allowing more effective placement against other players and projectiles. For example, preventing it from hitting a wall prematurely. 3. The primary mode is generally better in one-on-one combat, so running around charging the vortex all the time may not be the best way to go about it. Instead, look for other players already fighting each other with projectiles and fire a vortex to take them all out! 4. In addition to offense, the vortex is very useful in redirecing incoming projectile fire, or even turning projectiles against those who fired them! (see: redeemer) 5. Don't use vortex shots against players who are not firing projectiles, as the vortex will only draw charge from projectiles. I.e, it is ineffective against the primary mode of the stinger, impact hammer, sniper rifle, primary shock rifle, enforcers, etc. It is quite effective against the biorifle, primary linkgun, secondary shock rifle, rockets, other vortex guns, and especially primary flak cannon fire. 6. In general the vortex works best against slower moving projectiles, such as other vortex gun fire, flak cannon, redeemer(!) and shock rifle projectiles. This gives the vortex a longer opportunity to draw power from them and also makes them more susceptible to having their velocities changed by the force of the vortex. ********************************************** Known issues: Have not been able to test it online, so I have no idea how it works there yet... ********************************************** As usual, you can either add the included mutator to replace the rocket launcher with this weapon, or you can do it yourself with the game's Weapon Replacement Mutator. CryHavoc196: Not so much, as the vortex aspect pulls players and projectiles in towards itself. Also, getting your vortex to draw power from other projectiles while affecting their velocities is a key element of using this weapon. Might I suggest downloading it to get a proper feel?

How can I spawn this weapon in the game? Thanks. I mean in other words, without using the mutator.

Bret Hart: The mutator will overwrite the rocket launcher weapon and ammo, but if that is not what you want, you can use the general Replace Weapon mutator that comes with the game to swap out any other weapon. You can even have that latter mutator swap out the impact hammer or enforcer if you would like it to be a default weapon...

I had issues with online play, weapon replacement mutator would not load your weapon, using this replacement string:

chilau1: You have to stop shooting to let it recharge. The primary fire is quite powerful damage-wise, and with splash damage and bouncing off the wall shots, this was a design decision to help balance it.

HTM~Minion: Sorry, I made a note in the Readme, but I'll put one in the first posting too that I have not tested it to work online. Why its getting a divide-by-zero error is beyond me, but again it was really only developed as a weapon to work in single player for now. I'm curious though, are you saying that the gun works at all online? Like, the primary fire and recharging?
