I just got an email from someone here who said they saw my map was in epics custom content, or certain video. He said it was for the xbox 360 video here -

ok this is bull, they stole my arctic shipment map idea, the exact same thing - http://www.gametrailers.com/player/33033.html

look at the map wit the crane and the crates, its snowing and there icebergs and everything from like my map. Thats retarded, is Epic really going that low to steal others work? I can't believe this...

did you use textures or models from epic for your map?
maybe there is a special eula for custom maps that allows them to use your map that way?

well that shows how low the company would be to take my idea, and are they that stupid to think people (or i ) wouldn't notice?

it is stealing, even if there is something that says they can if i used their stuff, but the point is the layout isn't theirs even though the textures/meshes are. Would you want to support a game company that steals peoples ideas that they worked hard on?

Anything posted on the forums BELONGS to Epic!

They might even have a clause where anything created with their editors belongs to them.

Unless you have a legal copyright, there's nothing you can do.

that is wrong actually. The forum is a public place, if that were true, i could post a picture, or models from another game and you think it belongs to epic? Not really, if your smart enought to know how this works. It is however possible that they could have some short line in their policy or agreement that states that they can use your ideas, but its pretty much bull because i was going to enter that map into the make somthing unreal contest, and they stole my idea for an exclusive xbox 360 map. However, i can still sue if for the layout because that i created, and i have many people who can vouch for that.

You used their engine, their tools, their models, their textures, technically it is theirs.
You don't own the editor so therefore you can't claim it as your own, you did make it but in legal terms, they probally own it.

You can sue. But you'll lose. Especially if you used Epics editor to make it.

the models and textures are, but the layout/idea of a boat in an arctic area with icebergs and stuff isn't. Thats my point.

I really thought good of epic, they were my favorite company sinc bungie screwed up with their game. This is really shocking..
