I have solution to FirewallInstallHelper.dll bug

Hello everyone,

If you have been having trouble like me getting GOW to uninstall/install because of the FirewallIInstallHelper.dll failing to load I believe I have a solution. This worked for me so it’s worth a shot since you are probably totally frustrated by now looking for the .dll file on the internet.

1.) Put GOW CD in drive and allow to load.

2.) Exit out of the auto run window by clicking on “Exit.”

3.) Search the CD with the Window XP search tool for the “FirewallInstallHelper.dll” file. You should only get one result after a short while. Leave that window open.

4.) Now navigate to your System 32 folder in the Widows folder but do not open the contents of the System 32 folder.

5.) With your Search results still open click and drag the FirewallInstallHelper.dll file into the System 32 folder.

6.) Close all windows you have open.

7.) Run the GOW CD again and click on “Install.”

8.) You will get another prompt asking you if you want to uninstall all components. Click yes.

9.) You will get another prompt asking if you want to delete all other user content. Click yes.

10.) Game should install now and you should be free and clear.

Hi,

I got a problem with this game because i whant to uninstall it but then i get this error: Error Number: 0x80040702 Discription: Failed to load dll: FireWallInstallHelper Setup will now be terminate.

But i haven't got FireWallInstallHelper.dll i deleted and still it gives that error so i can never install it now again because i must first uninstall it but then it gives that error :S

Can you or sombody else who read this help me ?

I found the proper files but can't get past Step 5. The files on the CD cannot be moved because they are "read only". Or instead of the system 32 folder on the CD, do you mean the system 32 folder on my PC?
Appreciate any further suggestions on solving this issue. Thx.
