Voice command for UT3

I tried asking but did not get an answer, is the voice command technology for th e bots still going to be a part of UT3? Everyone is talking about the graphics but nobody is talking about that feature. They aren't even discussing it during any of the reviews I have read. Someone please help me find out.

I have a feeling that this feature fell into the same hole that socks go in couches and political rally promises go after the elections.

I am pretty pissed off that there is no voice commands but I am happy that the menu system is now adequate to give rudimentary commands.
I guess grand ideas about what should happen with bot ai also have gone to that magical place -- bots still get stuck in weird places, sometimes they even hover in mid-air for no reason (can't remember the map now.)

Anyway, feature's gone. It's not there

It seems like an unfinished or cut out feature.

Seems we are not the only ones that notice this missing. A real shame too..

Maybe it will be implemented in a future patch... Maybe if we keep this thread alive long enough someone will notice it.

For now I just want those damn TEXTURE GLITCHES fixed...Patch 101 didn't fix the geforce 8800 flickering issue.

I was wondering about this too. In previous UT versions it was nice to be able to give bots orders that way. Some earlier press releases for UT3 (2007) said this feature would be in the new game and even be more extensive. Must have run into problems and abandoned it.

Well, I will be honest, one of the BIG things I was looking for was this "improved" voice command feature they were talking about. I remember reading an article about it and Epic promised us it was going to be there. As a consumer I seriously feel slighted by this and DUPED by this.

I went out and bought the game and did not open it yet before finding this out, since it is not there, the game is going back to the store and I am NOT spending my money on something I have waited so long to get and to have. I am serious, I am really disappointed with Epic, they took out the biggest thing I was looking for and this more than likely is the reason the game is NOT flying off the shelves. Each store I have went to I have asked about the game and one store said they only got 7 copies and did not sell ONE and this on on black friday.

In the future I would suggest that Epic change a few things concering releasing a game. One, do what you say you are going to do and back that up, do not have us hope and pray for a game that we all love and then come out at the last minute and change things and make NO mention of it. I am really let down by this. Secondly, if you are going to release a game do not change the release date at least 2-3 times during the year. The game came out last week and even I didn't know it was out. I mean its like NOBODY nowhere knew when it was coming and I think Epic dropped the ball because they changed the date so much. By the time the game got here my anticipation of it just dropped drastically. I didn't even care and i was happy to see it but now I dont want to see it, i don't even want to play it. Thirdly, i was SUPREMELY unhappy with the fact that Epic would not even RELEASE any information about what the requirements to play the game are. Would it have been so hard to let us know what our computers need to get ready for this game. I for one UPGRADED my computer to play this game and now I have to accept that I wont be playing Unreal 3. Fourth epic is releasing NO information on what happened to the voice feature and I think as a company they should. I dont know about you but as a paying customer (who is returning this to the store) I feel lied to and I feel like I was not imporant enough for you to respect my being your customer to take care of my expectations. I am sorry Epic but you lost a customer after playing this game since UT 99....

hmmm... i dunno but i feel that this ut3 is somewhat similar to ut2003... and another ut2k4 like game is gonna come out! kinda like an expansion or something coz seriously! the game is missing some of the most enjoyable features that were in the previous Ut's

True and I don't know perhaps they look at the big picture, what is the displeasure of a few if the masses don't care?

It may very well be that they were building for the console market. Is voice possible with those? I have never owned one. They are patching the game soon. The UI will be upgraded. Maybe the voice command will come along soon too. To tell the truth, I don't know that the bots obey the menu commands in the game. They don't acknowledge the orders or seem to respond.

Why doesn't EPIC get a number of players together in the community and work together with us and harden this game?

I'm sure we, the users/gamers would gladly give our time and expertise to help this game out.

Ya I'm wondering why the hell don't they have like 5 person of their crew to read forum DAILY in order to work with us and make a list of bugs to fixes and stuff to improve.

When we say something against Epic, the moderator take less than 15min to click the ban button but when we take our time to report all the bugs for free and do the dirty work for them, not even a single message or any thank you from Epic...
