I had this problem this evening, I had to change the date and time (from PM to AM) and I am able to get in just fine. I also changed it back to the current date and time and it didn't work. Change it baack to yesterday AM and it works fine... EPIC games won't be on my list anytime soon....

uh... I just got mine today too, what gives? We payed for this game to work after 20 years, what's the deal Epic?

I'm getting the same message as everybody else here on the site. I've even deleted some other windows live games to see what the problem was and nothing!

This game is amazing. I think it was secretly modified by the x-box people at microsoft to convince people to give up PC gaming! What's next? The game will erase your hard disk if you don't start the game standing on one foot?

I have the same error since some minutes ago. It's a problem of certifications. I've checked the date of expiration of the exe and it is exactly today, so that's the origin of the problem http://img134.imageshack.us/my.php?image=certfq9.jpg

The Digital Certificate for Startup.exe in Gears of War expires on 2/22/2009 as well, any fix will have to address this file as well. I don't want to deal with this again in a month.

Heeeeyyy guys i got the fu......king solution for this ****ing game, i have the same problem, "you can run xxxx.... Whit modified code xxx.... So i try and try so many ways, but i remember that we have the same problem whit all the mother f..... Products of windows live. (im sorry for my english im from mexico and i speack at least an 80% :d) so the ****ing date, there is a bug or something that ****s the executable, the only thing that i do was put my date a couple of years back i mind if we are in 2009 i put my date on 2006, and that´s it no more ****ing problems, an now i can play , i hope this minimun **** can help my friends, im wait for some answers to know if it works, and i repeat sorry for my english .........
