Official Roadie Run Update
Hey all,
As you know, at Epic we try very hard to listen to our community and address issues they may be having with our games. Recently, to do just that, we tweaked the way that roadie run controls so that players would have greater control of their movement in an attempt to reduce the amount of times a player would accidently get sucked into cover. Our idea was to look at “player intent”, in essence, where is the movement stick when a player bumps into cover. If the player wants to go into cover then they’ll have the stick pointing towards it. It they want to stay out of cover then they’ll have the control stick pointing away from it.
We tested this method extensively for weeks and really felt that it was a solid improvement, otherwise we would have never released it. We have received numerous emails and forum posts from people who really like the new system but unfortunately that is not true for everyone. Based on what we’re hearing from the community now, there are a large number of players where this new control system does not help them as we intended. For that we apologize.
The good news is that we have been looking at this problem very intently as soon as we started getting reports of people getting caught by cover more frequently and we believe we have found the ideal solution for both groups of players. It’s one that takes the best elements of the original roadie run control scheme and marries it with the best elements of the latest roadie run update and doesn’t have any of the negative issues of either.
Our current plan is to continue to test this latest tweak to make sure that there are no more issues with it moving forward and then to include it in our next title update. This will not happen immediately of course as a full test pass and a full certification test pass takes time, and we’ll want to monitor if there are any new issues that require attention due to the inclusion of Annex or the removal of certain exploits.
We appreciate your patience in this matter and please know that we have your best interest at heart any time we look at updating the game.
Thanks,
Rod.

Good news.
All has been forgiven.
EDIT: All is not forgiven after over a month.

Thank you very much for responding to the community on this issue, Mr. Fergusson.
I do ask you to please remember that the ability to make tight turns while running around corners and to maneuver between blocks of cover while running without getting stuck to anything should be very important considerations when judging the effectiveness of the new "hybrid" system you guys are working on.
Once again, thank you very much for continuing to try to improve the GoW experience.

thank you Epic, and thank you Rod for addressing this. I just about lost hope! I wish you could be a little more detailed about Epic's plans to fix the roadie run, but I'll be patient. I do wonder how long this update will take though, compared to the last one. Hopefully not as long seeing as how the last one included a new game mode.
Thanks again!

Thanks for that Rod. Something else you guys should devote sometime to fixing is this persistent "stage fall-out" glitch on Fuel Depot. When jumping over the ledge next to the shelves where the Hammer Of Dawn is located, a player occasionally falls through the floor when attempting to jump up the edge. I know this has something to do with the bottles that may be knocked off the shelf. If you are unable to fix this fall out glitch effectively, maybe consider simply removing the bottles from the shelves, as the glitch could never be setup. The price of not having bottles that you can shoot off a shelf, vs a bad glitch that ruins a game of Annex, is in my mind a worthwhile adjustment. Please get this fixed guys, as this little glitch keeps on popping up and sucking me under the stage!

i second the "stage fall-out" glitch on fuel depot. i think it's the first thing that happened to someone first time playing annex in that particular map.
also, for some reason, almost every now and then when i re-spawn and try to switch weapons, it'll get sort of locked up with my arms stuck to my back as if i was getting another weapon but nothing comes out. i usually just jam on the d-pad until something does come out and when i switch to lancer or shotgun and try to aim it turns into the grenade's form of aiming.
i would add more glitchy stuff that's happened to me since the new update, but i rather stay on topic and thank you for addressing the issue.
