Unreal Tournament GOTY
I know I've posted in the UT03-04 section of the forums, but I can't find the area to cater for the UT GOTY Edition.
I've twice bought this copy of Unreal, the first was the origianl, the second, is the newly released Unreal Anthology. I've bought it again because the first purchase caused me a few problems.
I have an AMD Athlon[tm] 64 Processor 3200+ 995MHz, 2.00GB of DDR RAM, 24 BIT Sound Blaster Card, Nvidia Geforce 7200GS PCI-EX Grapics Card, standard keyboard and a Logitech MX510 mouse.
I can run Unreal 2k4 perfectly, Quake 4 on the Highest settings, Doom 3 on the highest settings... But UT GOTY, no chance! The game speeds up and slows down, it jitters and shakes, other players say I am at one end of the room and suddenly appear at the end... Does anyone know why this is happening?
I've tried using Direct 3D, Open GL and everything else. The only thing that works is, disabling my graphics card via the bios and using my onboard (ATI Radeon x200), but as you'll all guess, that becomes a pain to say the least.
Can anyone help? I've ran out of ideas...
Thanks

does this happen offline as well? what's the frame rate at? i've had two problems with ut and geforce drivers since the 50 series dets and the fix i found is to cap the frame rate it 85 by enabling vsync/refresh rate in the driver and ut ini file and enable 2x antialising in the driver. don't know if this would make you show up on the other side of the room though.

Thanks for the response guys;
I've unistalled all my logitech software, wasn't that. As mentioned before, mu onboard graphics runs the game perfectly, therefore, I'm assuming it's the Nvidia Geforce that is complicating matters.
When playing the game online, it jitters and shakes. When offline it seems ok, sometimes it slows down a little, however, I've been informed that this is normal.
I've changed the refresh rate on the graphics card, and screen resolution, this still didn't help! I was just about to unistall the game and leave UT 99 forever, when I tried an old trick.
When online, hit the tab key, then type netspeed 1000 (you can adjust your netspeed to different speeds). I've found that a netspeed of 1000, runs the game perfectly online... bang your refresh rate and screen resolution to the highest settings and you're flying!
This seems to have solved the problem, so if anyone buys a relatively new graphics card, and has trouble playing their older games, try this, it may help.

Try adding -CPUSPEED=<your cpu's clock frequency> to the command line arguments of the shortcut to the game. I.e.:
C:\Games\UT\System\UnrealTournament.exe -CPUSPEED=2400
Good ol' UT has problems with doing the timing correctly. On my laptop I have to play with the power cord plugged in to keep the CPU cycling on its top frequency, or else UT gets confused and in-game time speeds all up and down.

I have contacted NVidia about this problem as well. There are issues with Unreal as well.
If your system is dual core or 2 cpu's, disable a core or CPU.
ctrl/shift/Esc brings up a menu and right click on the UT proggie and set affinity to only one core / cpu, generally have to do this every play time.
NVidia may be looking into the speed fix.

Install that GlideWrapper Olav posted, then go to start > all programs > unreal tournament > Start UT in safe mode (however it says it), and change the "3D Device" to 3DFX. See if that works

Hi,
Dont wanna start my own post for this questing
I wanna know how i can get a joypad to work with UT GOTY Edition. I've got a Microsoft X-box 360 joypad and so far i can only strafe and move back and forth with the left analog joystick. I can turn left and richt with the right analog joystick but it keeps on turning really fast (no deadzone) and i can't look up and down. Is there any command fot this?
