Default Thanks

I have had unreal tournament 2004 for my mac for a long time, and recently my old computer died, shut down, and wouldn't restart no matter what I tried. I have a new computer, and I still have my serial for unreal tournament 2004, but I cannot find my discs anywhere, I was wondering if there was anything I could do about this.

any comments would be helpful.

Nope, you're out of luck here, unfortunately. You'll have to purchase it again, since CDs/DVD was a part of your original purchase. The Unreal Anthology Pack is actually very cheap nowadays, so you could get it and get three more great games in the process.

Well thanks a lot, I'm in college and extremely poor, I love first person shooters and I haven't been able to play any of mine since the old comp died. Maybe I'll ask for a new set of cds for christmas from the parents.

Edit: I play on a mac is there an anthology pack out for the mac or just the pc? I can't seem to even find a mac anthology pack on-line.

I think the anthology pack is just for PC and linux, unfortunately.

Hmm, I'm not too aware about the compatibility with Mac. If Steam works on Mac, you could get the game via Steam and not have to worry about losing CDs ever again.
And no, Anthology isn't even for Linux... That is, natively, you can play it via WINE though, or install through WINE and then apply the Linux patch to run it natively.

So I was able to salvage my old hard drive, and now have a copy of the game, but it requires the cd to start. Any possible solutions to this?

Keep in mind I am on a mac.

UT2004 doesn't need a CD to play, although I'm not sure about how the mac install works. But generally if you come across that message in Windows, you've encountered a bug... Try deleting UT2004.ini and using the UT2004 RegFix.

I'm not sure if the patches for the mac version removed the CD-in-tray requirement (like was done for the normal version,) but it would be a good idea to apply the latest patch in case it does.

I got it working. I thought my old computer had the latest patch, but it didn't. When I added in the latest patch it did not require the cd. Thanks everyone for all your help, I am now playing UT2004!!
