Your opinion about the shotgun?
The TU2 has fixed my major issue with the shotgun, shooting from the hip is now working.
I have now to adapt to the fact you can't shoot straight-away at the end of a run.
It applies to all the weapons, though, so belongs in another discussion.
I think the shotgun is great. It's a very powerful weapon up close as it should be, but it's not all powerful as it was in Gears 1.
Ever since Gears2 came out, I adapted to the fact that the shotgun wasnt similar to the one it Gears1, so started using my HB a lot more often(Probably Epic's plan all along ), and if ever I do get into a CQC, I just keep my distance to avoid any melee.
Speaking of melee, what would be the opinion on a lengthened melee anim if you miss?
If you go to punch someone, especailly as hard as these guys would, and you miss, you may end up with unexpected follow-through that you wouldn't have had if your punch landed where you planned.
With regards to the melee stun, even if it is made to operate exactly as it did in Gears 1, there's still the lag issue of whether or not your shots hit in time.
With this follow-through method, missing a melee in and of itself would be dangerous, let alone any stun that may result afterward.
