Sell me on joining the Epic Games community...

Well, name any other forums and I can guarantee this fourm is better, everybody is friendly and welcoming. We all enjoy Gears and this is the place to chat about it. Also what TAO said, how Epic employees get involved also and listen to feedback and we have community events! Whats not to love?

The Epic Games community welcomes people with open arms. Everybody is pretty friendly and is willing to help out anybody in anyway they can. The Epic employees listen to the feedback that people give and even ask for our opinions on certain areas so they can improve it better.

I haven't been to many other forums but this one is by far the friendliest and well maintained. The admins and moderators actually engage with the community and don't only show up when topics get heated. And the wealth of information that can be gained here is astounding. I have a friend that claims to be a bigger gearhead than me but I know more about what's going to be in Gears 3 just from this forum alone.

I wanted to quote what she said because I completely agree. Gears isn't the most 'girly' game out there but in my experience there are more Girl Gamers on Gears than most other shooters. I would also like to say that FLAK was a huge part of why I really enjoy this community. Not that your not awesome Raczilla but it was pretty cool to see a girl gamer in charge of so much around here. The people on the forums are really cool in the sense that you can tell everyone here really likes Gears and all the people involved with the game.

It's an older post, but Cher's caught my girlfriend's attention ("What are you DOING on that forum all the time? Let me see this") and she wanted me to give it some props... She never was interested in shooters of any kind, but after she tried Gears (Horde first, then Guardian, then Everything) she wanted me to mention that she came to the same conclusion: She hasn't given a crap about multiplayer gaming in a long time because she felt like she was entering an uncomfortable environment. In the case of Gears of War 2 however, nearly everyone she met was excited about the prospect of their game appealing to a wider audience and welcomed her appropriately, and the few people she played with that disagreed found themselves to be the subject of ridicule. So there ya go Jessie, passed your props along.

What makes this community great is the fact there is no disconnect. On other forums for games the only time you hear from an employee of the company is when you are about to be hit upside the head with the banhammer.

It is different here. Devs and employees interact with the community, even if it is a regular old discussion. Developers pop in and out of threads to post information, clear up confusion,or even to crack a joke or two. Heck, look at this group for example - you are asking us, the community to be involved in some way. This in and of itself is a rarity. We feel like part of the team, even if we really arent.

And then what Cher said - what struck me about these forums is everyone here loves the game. This is NOT the case with other titles and their respective forums. There are many where their most active members, hate the game. Here, despite whatever bickering that is inherent with message forums, everyone shares the same love of the series.

hello, everyone i just recently joined this website today because of the fact that I'm DIEHARD Gears fan also this is the first group that i have joined. I've been looking through the forums a bit and I've seen a bunch of cooperation between other members on a few different discussions and i enjoy talking about gears and how things can be improved or helped even though i love gears perfectly fine the way it is there is always room for new ideas, improvement, and making fellow gears fans happy. This is the place where if you love Gears of War you need too be . There are many people on here who are very knowledgeable about the whole series and can answer any questions you might have , you dont have a question and are looking for a bunch of people too play with well then there is the EGFC , a group of people just like you who love gears and do weekly lobbies and monthly events that everyone can join in . These forums are Run by some wonderful people , from Cher and Flak too Joe Graf and Raczilla , they make everything run smoothly on here for all of us , wither they are doing a give away, keeping everyone on topic , closing threads because of nonsense or playing the game with us they make it great for us too do what we do, so if you are looking too join then i say come on and welcome too our little family and remember we put the FUN in DYSFUNCTIONAL

Joke aside I like this community. The mods are helpful at times and honestly this shows up a lot of what the community can do better than DICE or Infinity Ward. GO EPIC!

I can't believe I didn't find out about this pace earlier! I haven't been here long, but I feel like I am apart of a family here. I have met some great people, and joined the EGFC.
