FREE HOLIDAY WEEK FOR UT3 ON STEAM? what do you think

Do you think they should do this? This is my suggestion of course

I think it might be a good idea to do this since the community is disspearing faster than a speeding bullet. I think most servers will probably have noobs playing noobs now so they won't rage as much as in the prior times......It's just a suggestion to give those who still play the game a few extra players to play against............any thoughts? lol

UT3 on win7 x64 nvidia GTX260

I just rebuilt my computer with win 7 x64. I have the Nvidia GTX260 card with the latest driver. When I run the game the screen is blank, even during the initial startup with the animated Nvidia and other messages.

I installed the latest UT3 patch

If I press ALT-ENTER to toggle windowed it works fine

Any ideas how to make it work full screen?

UT crashes when I try to connect to server

I also opened a thread at Problems and troubleshooting but I think more ppl are reading in the general chat, so here's my problem...

My UT crashes when I try to connect to server. Dunno what happened, suddenly I can't connect to any server anymore and after some tries my ut won't start at all. And then my whole pc is slower. I have no problems with other games like borderlands or similar. UT worked the day before with "almost" no problems, on that day I already couldn't connect to some servers. When I try to connect it says "UT3.exe detected a problem and so on". I already re-installed it, checked my harddrive with virus scan and re-patched it. Atleast I can start ut now again, but still can't connect to any server. Can some1 help me pls?

Loaded UT3 up last night patched it, after some time off to play other games and man can not believe how dead the online play is.
Out of 10 Deathmatch servers that were populated I could only join one that did not have custom content.
The custom content would not open or download, I guess there is really no online community left in this game so ill go back to other games.
Sad I really liked the UT series and this would have been a great game if more PC players had the money to upgrade and play it.

hi guys i try and install unreal on my pc i have just put windows 7 64 bit and everytime i try and install it i get error half way through when its trying to install anyone know why?

Epic will there be any update's for UT3 PS3?

I bought the ps3 ut3 game when it cameout and i been playing this game all the time the rush is good;) i also got every map they release and titan wich i think it was one of the best updates they made for ut3(BLACK) now my question is will my guest ever play with me online? will he have settings config, for him self? or the biggest one will u ever make a thirdperson addon on settings just incase we dont feel like playing first person? this game has alot to give but it lacks attention from the makers only gears of war gets attention. Epic we love ur game will u give us more?

ATI Radeon 5870 loves UT3

I've been playing UT3 for a while now. All on my E8400 on 3.6Ghz. The graphics and framerates were ok on my Nvidia 8800GT, I was able to play with slightly better graphics on my ATI 4890 but now I'm able to max out everything on my 5870. Highest settings on everything, 4xAA 8xAF. I'm loving it. I also noticed that the UT3 menu's load faster, the maps load faster and if there are framedrops, they aren't as HUGE as before.

So if you're a socket 775 user who's having doubts between upgrading the entire platform ( ex. Core i7 ) or just the GPU, upgrade the GPU.

That's many times now that online play has been partially ruined by GUIFFREA spamming the text chat with profane, vulgar, or obscene chat.

Trash talking is fine, but when it goes into the above its just not on, is there anything that can be done to curtail people spamming the text chat in Epics warfare servers?

I have typed Admin several times, but nothing happens, is there somewhere I can report these idiots?

Any of you have issues with text spaming or indeed the above named?

so I just came back from my peep's house(I know it's way too late). but I got something to say!

earlier today I went to my friend's house to play some PS3. He told me he wanted to test out some new mods he found on the internet. After he put the second last mod, his PS3 shut down...usually when 'I' load up a whole bunch of mods on my PS3 it freezes for a few minutes then goes back to normal. but in his case the PS3 just shut off! when he booted up his PS3, his HDD was wiped out....no music, videos, pics or anything!

we tried to see if it was the USERDATA.JAM file, so we put in some music from his External HDD(thank technology for that) and tried installing the mod again...and sure enough his PS3 behaved the same way!

as of now we are unsure of what this could mean...

what I think is that the USERDATA.JAM wasn't downloaded properly or something. he thinks someone is trying to kill everyones PS3's

what do you guys think about this?

Scaling Widget and Audio Radius not working together?

I am placing AmbientSounds throughout my map and adjusting the Min/Max Radius with the scaling widget. I noticed that the scaling widget does adjust the Min/Max Radius values correctly in the Properties window and when I preview in the editor everything sounds fine. BUT, when I play the level in the game my sounds can be heard all over the map.

So I did a bit of research and found that when using the scaling widget the Min/Max Radius values are changed but their LookupTable Values are not. Check out this picture that shows a newly created AmbientSoundSimple. I have only adjusted the Max Radius with the scaling widget and you can see that the Max Radius and its Lookup Table Value are different. This did not affect anything inside of the editor, but when I launched the game my sounds were playing across the map, because the Lookup Table vaules override the Max Radius. If I go back into the editor and manually type in a value then the Lookup Table changes to match the Max Radius and everything works fine. So there is a workaround.

So here are my questions:

1. Is the scaling widget rendered useless when working with an Audio Radius because the Lookup Tables do not get changed? Am I forced to manually enter all my property values?

2. Is this a known bug? I don't see any mention of it in the Known Issues on the UDN or in the forums.

3. Does the scaling widget exhibit this behavior on any other objects or is it just AmbientSounds?

4. What is a Lookup Table anyway?

What if a new Unreal...

What if a new Unreal 3 came out, like a campaign based game like Unreal 1 and 2(not as horrible as 2 though).

I mean, what would we like to see, or what would I personally like to see in a game like this?

-A lengthy campaign

-Co-op Campaign

-Team based Online features(like invasion, special missions, etc)

I think it would be neat to see a game like this, although I like the UT series better.

Just throwing out a idea...

Since ut3 was "taking it back to its roots" and made like ut99 why not do the same with unreal championship?

UC was based off on UT2k*. You Could turn the 2k* series into unreal championship and build among that.

Its still alot of people who enjoys/enjoyed the 2k4. Why just ditch it?

I love duel mode and I hate vehicles in the game because it takes away what makes UT good. However for some reason everyones playing them modes and my fave mode of duel is dead or you have to wait 15 mins for a fight because it's poorly implemented.

So the best way to fix duel is to make it into a tournament and say theres 16 people who join a lobby or whatever and you have a ladder. You'll have at the start 8 games going on at once with 1 v 1 and the winner goes on to the next round until you get to the final. You'd have some ranking system built in and stats you can view on peoples profiles and achievements.

I love 1 v 1 because it comes down to pure skill between the two players where as all the other modes feel crowded and no ones working as a team and it's annoying. I just wish that Epic would build on their features better. I personally find nothing more fun than when I used to play 1 v 1 with one shot kill railguns in Quake 3 I think it was. Knowing that you have to have 100% accuracy to kill them.

Just something I'd like to see for the future in another UT game or even UT3.

Unreal 3 Website Design..

Hello all,

I'm a new member so dont be too harsh on me ;)

Basically, i'm a webdesigner. I've designed a template for an unreal 3 clan site, however it could be used for something else other than a clan I suppose. I'd like to see if there was any general interest for the people/players here that may want it.
