pre-order stuff

so yesterday i went to eb games and pre-ordered gears (finally!). and the guy who was working the register asked another worker there if they have any pre-order stuff in yet. the second guy said no. the first guy said that its extra the company releases to people who pre-ordered it. i have never heard of this before, and im thinking that "pre-order stuff" isnt the official name. do any of you know if there will be pre-order stuff for gears? and if so, any idea when it will be released?

thats what i meant. sorry for awkward phrasing. the guy there said that sometimes they give out extra stuff for pre-ordering a game. i had never heard of that before and was wondering if you guys knew of anything like that for gears.

Yeah its most likely what Darth said. They generally do things like that to encourage preorders. Oh and I heard somethin interesting that I didnt know. If ebgames or gamestop dont get enough preorders for a game the main man wont order any more because they think the game wont sell, so yall may want to preorder just in case.

That may be true. I pre-ordered from gamestop and they said something like that to me too. (the extras, i mean). But I got the special edition, so they may have been referring to the confirmed extra maps and features of the Special Edition.

This is kind of upsetting.

My local gamestores are taking preorders for Gears of War... but half of them have no idea what it is.

The first time I asked about it over the phone the girl was looking for 'Years of War' in her release schedule. No bull... it's that bad.

I'm also getting very concerned over this Ltd Edition Gears of War talk. What the hell? There is NOBODY taking preorders for a Ltd Edition Gears in any shop over here at the moment.

If there are any Epic people cruising this can you confirm the UK are getting this Ltd Edition baby or are we being shunted (to use a polite term)?

I'm not usually all that bothered about Ltd Edition type marketing rubbish but with this game I would spend the cash... no problem at all.

I work at an EB, and we're preordering the collector's edition. It's the one I preordered, actually. And as far as pre-order goodies go, we haven't gotten anything yet, but I'm really hoping for a shirt or something.

I pre-ordered the Collectors Edition. It's going to have the 'Destroyed Beauty' Hardbound book along with a DVD with behind the scenes making of GoW. My question is that will there be a different GoW Case for the CE? The only game I've bought the CE for is Halo 2 so I don't know if it was a one time thing or if everyone makes a new case.

I think if you pre-order things you only get a bonus if you do it online or something. I pre-ordered Dead or Alive 4 and online it said you get a Calendar with it if you pre-order but I didn't get anything. I didn't really care though.

Just go up to Gamestop and tell them that you pre-ordered Gears of War, and didn't realize that there was gonna be a CE, and you'd like to change your pre-order.

I doubt they'll say 'no' to more money.

I just called EB games and the guy said it was expected to releas in november and they are only taking $5 and you are guarenteed one when it comes out and you just pay the rest later.Sorry if already posted.
