i woke up this morning and i think to myself...how is gears of war going to end?? will it b a cliffhanger until the possible gears of war 2?? will they defeat the locust?? give sum ideas lol

I personally hope that you dont defeat the locust completely. I would rather have an ending that more effects the squad tham the whole world. I think it will be more in tune with the personal nature of the game.

I like the endings that have a since of completeness to them (you feel like you accomplished something), but at the same time it leaves the door open for future adventures. I'm not a big fan of cliff hangers, and I don't think we'll see that in this case.

Well I don't mind if its gonna be a cliffhanger ending as long as the next GoW comes out the next year and a half. :D

yeah i hated the cliffhanger at the end of Halo, it drove me nuts! Then halo2 came out and that had even MORE of a cliffhanger so i sure hope they don't have one in GoW. However, if there is going to be a second GoW then they will most likely have some kind of cliffhanger, small or big, just something to let you know that the game's not quite over.

M$ said they hope this will be their next Halo, so it will prolly be a cliffhanger. But hopefully not like Halo and Halo 2.

you will probly win a big battle, but not the war, Sera is a big planet afterall, and unless they use a super hammer of dawn to kill all the locust (and the planet) i dont see how the cog will win the war in just this one game, leading to a second GoW where they finish the locusts off

I definately dont want them to defeat the locusts. I think i want the storyline to be based around a main boss and at the end defeat him and be introduced to the next boss. I want a trilogy damnit!

i hope it's not like halo in that every game you meet a new "breed" of enemies. I think they should stick to just the locusts, which i think they will. I kind of want a cliffhanger ending though so that it's guaranteed that he will be a sequel.

LOL, I felt the same way. I kept glancing at my watch thinking "oh crap this is gonna end soon." As for the ending, I think itll be a cliff-hanger, GOW will be too good to end in one game. Im hoping for a trilogy actually, I know alot of other games are doing this to create an epic feeling, but I think there's enough story in Gears to pull it off.

I don't think it will be a cilfhanger of sorts. I belive that it will be like the ending of the first Halo, Matrix, etc.; where that part of the story is solved (Smith dying, destroing Halo) but there is still LOTS of story to tell.
