View Full Version : Weapon skins (how to get them in Judgment)

Instead of purchasing weapon skins, how about EPIC (and PCF) make the weapon skins obtainable like the Lambency achievement in Gears 3.
EPIC employee's will have all the weapon skins and when they drop these weapons, when you pick them up, you get that skin set (all starting weapons, not just for the one you got)
You will also be able to get these skins from people who already have them
This will be like a "collect them all" thing, and once you get all, lets say 30 weapon skin sets, you get either:
A. Achievement
B. new weapon skin (not obtainable through pick-up)
C. Medal title
What do you guys think about this?
And yes EPIC probably won't let weapon skins be free...(atleast all of them)

It'd filter out though, it's the same dealio as the "play with a developer" achievement in loads of other games. You get them all eventually. I like it, Dodger.

I suggested in another thread about weapon skins that all skins should be unlockable in game and also available for purchase. Then those that want to spend the money can buy them and those that would rather earn them by playing can do that as well.

Well, I like the idea. I'd love for Epic not to make so few weapon skins unlockable. Like maybe.....idk
For instance, let's say Epic makes 50 weapon skins total.
23 of them animated, 27 of them normal.
I believe making 24 of those skins unlockable--2 animated, 22 normal--would be a nice trade. They would get more money from an animated set over a normal skin cover, and giving us a fair amount, enticing us to buy the rest, would be a better option than what they did with Gears 3. F2P MMO companies have a pretty good grasp on this, they entice you with a few of their better-than-normal cash shop items, and then once you have one, you're willing to buy other things because you had a taste of the cosmetic benefits of paying and want more. Idk, I think it'd be a good idea to generally do that.
I like your ideas, though. :)

All people would just unlock them then. It's nice on paper, but most people don't buy skins because it's "easier." When there's a free element in anything, people exploit it like crazy.

How is this bad? It's money for Epic. I'm for it.

I'm saying Epic won't give every skin a free option to unlock when people will just buy them anyways.

They should do this with at least 1 weapon skin. My suggestion to your idea would be that players should have to find the weapon skin in each of the starting weapons first, to unlock the skin permanently.

Yeah that would work with 1 weapon skin or even 5 sets.

Unlockable weapon/character skins - yes.
Stuff they expect me to buy? - No
Maybe if it is actually made after the damn game comes out, but I hate buying disc locked content. I guarentee all of you that Epic and PCF don't care just like every other company wanting to cut corners and they'll put a certain amount of it on the disc for later sale anyways (even if it is fully completed) I'll cave and buy the mappacks, but to hell with small stuff like characters and weapon skins.

Pretty good idea, but I doubt it would happen. See there's the "big problem" with it:
"Where's the profit?" :p
Remember, microtransactions are the future! ;)

How about they do that with developer skins, so when you get it, you feel so awesome because you got a skin only game developers have.

i wish they would release how many skins they sold and how much they made lol cause i bough a few of those skins and i am sure many did too as i always saw them in the battlefield.
just hope we get skins in judgment and they are actually decent! it seemed like they finally learnt/knew how to make good skins with the FoN DLC
