Possibly too late to implement, maybe not.
I was thinking about how how both the Gears 1 and 2 smoke grenades worked, and thought about how it may be nice to have different starting grenades at the start as well.
Everyone should know how the smokes work in Gears 3; that would be the first starter
The second grenade I works slightly like Gears 1's. The smoke comes out slowly progressively as it spreads into an area that is larger than the former and once reaching full capacity, lasts about 3 seconds and begins to disappear. From start to finish, it should take longer for this smoke to go away. Now here's the interesting part. In place of the cringe effect from the former, any enemy within the vicinity of the smoke before it reaches full capacity is spotted. When the grenade is tagged, it puts that person into the view of tac-com x-ray(like in CTL) and leaves a trail behind him like in Gears 1, spotting any enemy who walks into it. It does no damage, and does not down.
Time to put it under scrutiny!
