Who Wants Theater Mode?

I was really let down by Epic not including Theater in Gears 3. I have to be constantly recording in case I get a clip! Anyway, I'm sure it's the same for others, and the system works wel in CoD and Halo, so why not in GOWJ? Let me know what you think.

This. It's not an easy thing to implement. It'd be fantastic, but I'm not hopeful or expectant on this for a while.

Theater mode messes with the connections as well, so it may not be the best thing for Gears anyway.

Cool, but no thanx even if they are cheap I could get one right now but dont want too, if Halo and CoD has theater mode and Judgment doesnt have one, I wont loose any sleep...hopefully the Next Gen. Gears Game will have one by then!!

There'd still be cheaters. You'd be surprised how much someone will deny something, even when the evidence is slapping them in the face. :p

However, this is not the topic at hand. We've discussed this many times, and Judgement uses the same engine as Gears 3. Therefore, we can safely assume there won't be a theater mode. I would like one, but I don't see it happening any time soon. Probably not even for the UE4, which they have not stated if it has a theater-mode at all, so I'm guessing it's still not there. Something that big would have been announced at the Microsoft Conference during E3.

Wrong. The builds of the engine are updated all the time, GOW3 BETA and Retail had completely different engine builds, BETA being 7800+ and Retail being 8600+. The engine gets improved constantly but I don't have my hopes up for a theatre mode.

I have one and their all right. but the cool thing about halo's theater mode is you can go out of first person and get other angles anddo all kinds of other cool things. This feature would benefit players that have and dont have cap cards

I fought for theater so much in past even had a thread with slot of support get closed but I truly don't care anymore bcuz it ruins the experience in halo bcuz I spend more time watching and editing then I do playing lol but I would love s temporary video storage that we can watch until its deleted

It's not on unreal 4. We already know that. Nothing is, the engines not out yet, nor can current consoles handle it even if it were. Gears judgment is on an updated version unreal 3 like Gears 3 was.

Very difficult to implement into a game running Unreal Engine 3. I'm doubtful we'll be seeing a Theater Mode for Judgment.

Perhaps with the new Gears and UR4, but we won't be seeing that until the next generation consoles.
One can only hope.

Doubt GoWJ will have it due to engine restrictions. The next GoW on the next gen Xbox (there is going to be a fifth game for UE4 I'd bet) will probably have it with a bunch of other stuff

not everyone has money genius and plus having the ability to take pics int he game and videos is a big bonus and creates a much more rewarding community. Look at what halo did with its file sharing and such. Lots of good stuff there to pass up

Black Ops and MW3 have this and I think it does something to the hit detection or something.

It's not proven but a lot people believe that with the inclusion of theater it messes with bullet registration and so forth.

I wouldnt want Gears to suffer from that at all.

Besides I have an HDPVR I can record whatever game I wish. D:

If they tool it enough, maybe. In all of reality, it's the money cost to money gain ratio. My assumption is the theater mode attracts more.... 'Montage-ers' ergo, boosting some sales, since it wouldn't be as tough to catch the moments. It's a matter of if it would boost the sales ENOUGH, and that's if the retooled engine can even handle it.

I like the idea. However it should be limited to Private Matches only and to Spectators. This will avoid unneeded lag across the entire game.
Besides all of the matches people really want to watch anyways are competitive matches - in which are done in Private anyways.

Speaking about engines, I kinda don't like unreal engine anymore. CryEngine 3 running Crysis on ultra graphics is the bestest presentation EVER! Only thing unreal engine has better is motion blur that's it. Even Square Enix new engine is better than unreal engine. Unreal Engine is soo overhyped. Also why does UE3 Samaritan demo look way better than UE4 crappy demo?
