I had a thought, it's probably been brought up a fair bit as it seems a fairly simple idea but i have NO idea if it's possible.

Is there any way they can bridge the GoW3 MP over to this new game? So all the maps/weapons/skins/everything transfer over?

I heard that Halo did this with two of their games, could you play with people from the other game online? Like If GoW3 and GoW:J shared the MP, and people on GoW3 could connect with people in GoW:J and vice versa. Not sure if this would work due to new content and such in GoW:J, but this seems like a good way to keep the MP numbers for both games fairly high and decent. Maybe have the MP on a separate disc with OverRun and Campaign/Arcade on a different disc?

Again, sorry if this has been brought up before, just thought i'd ask/see peoples opinions on whether it was possible and would work.

It's not like halo 3 and Halo ODST. This is an entirely new game with a brand new MP.

Ah right, i can't see the online community for either Gears 3 or GoW:J being very strong then, it's going to split the community up alot. Especially so soon after GoW3 was released.

halo has never done this. closest halo did to it was as tao said, odst and halo 3, but that doesnt count since the MP disc in odst was really just halo 3

Isn't this due out early 2013? Because late 2011 - early 2013 is a year and a half. I suppose it might get delayed like Gears 3 did. This isn't a *****y thread btw :)

I think it would've been a smart move, it would've united the communities. But i suppose that's why i work at ASDA and not Epic Games haha.

On a somewhat related note, my mother works at Asda.

Game was ready to ship in April. Microsoft delay =/= production time.

It was an M$ delay? That's the second time recently I should've known something I didn't.

Yep, that was all MS. The game was finished. That delay allowed us to have the beta though so it's a good thing in the end IMO.

Yep. Microsoft said they needed a delay to get the later quarter sales up. Epic agreed so they could do more polishing and add a beta.

It would have been a great idea and all but I doubt this would happen.

Yeah it was just an idea. I think it could've worked, but i suppose the game would've felt like a big expansion pack as opposed to a brand new game. I'm happy we're getting a new game either way, just spent alot of money on DLC and the like for Gears 3, would've been nice to enjoy it for a bit longer, although i suppose by the time that game actually releases id've had alot more time with it.
