A humble request for GoW:J

Considering the cash we plunked down to buy weapon skins and what not, and considering Gears 3 is effectively going to be replaced by GoW:J, it would be nice if we could keep our weapon skins.

I'm not necessarily asking for all the skins, just some, hopefully most.

I mean, I spent a lot of time unlocking everything, I even bought the launch collection. It would be a shame to abandon them once GoW:J comes out. I can see a LOT of people never playing GoW 3 again once GoW:J comes out and depending on the changes made to balance and gameplay in GoW:J, I might be one of those people.

I'm sure it's possible to just copy/paste the skins into GoW:J. My request is for EPIC to please do! And, if you're feeling nice, make them free for those people that purchased/unlocked them already (make them carry over). That'd be swell. Thanks!

I doubt Microsoft would let it happen even if Epic wanted to. MS has a very tight grip on DLC.

New game, new schemes, new mechanics, new maps, new everything.

That's like saying that all the maps from Gears 1, 2 and 3 should be mandatory for Gears-J.

Which on a marketing level is just a big no-no.

Year and a half.
Decent enough time for me.
Seriously is all I have left along with reaching 400. However I'm already a 80 blue - so the remaining Onyx medals will get me there.
They could of went the CoD route and made it a year or less.
The game likely started off as a DLC for GoW3 but due to player demands - much of which were impossible to patch in - they made a new game out of it and expanded the idea.

Microsoft has zero control over the IP however. EPIC could include all of this if they wish without DLC,

A copy and paste understates it a bit, they'd need some alterations to interact w the new weapons in Judgment. It would be similar to how they don't work on the zeta weapons.

Yeah, personally I think EVERYTHING that was unlocked should roll over... if it doesn't, my opinion of Epic will drop drastically.

I unlocked Hayabusa armor in Halo 3, should it carry over to Reach or Halo 4?

It would be similar to how they don't work on the zeta weapons.
Exactly, if the weapon skins make a return they will need to be adapted to new weapon classes. ZETA ones doesn't work because the weapons are a completely different weapon class, they are weap classes of their own that extends GearWeap_Shotgun.uc, GearWeap_AssaultRifle.uc and what not.

You people saying this is a tall order are kind of confusing. Doth thou not remember Gears 1 characters carrying over to 2? Admittedly this is a bigger deal, just saying, character-wise at least, they should be able to carry over.

If they put weapon skins and such in, then our current ones should port over.. and if they won't, I will refuse to waste anymore money on something cosmetic.

That's entirely different. Gears 2 was able to read the achievements from Gears 1. We don't get achievements for the weapon skins in 3.
