I feel since epic is making the mp for this game that they should try to produce a better ranking system to prevent uneven teams. I know they cant factor in parties (i believe someone mentioned this to me) but the fact that a red seventy six gets matched with a white seventy six since their is technically no difference doesnt seem fair.

This is only the case because re-ups were introduced late into the game. If they are in this one from the beginning then the system should accept it.

Levels are not the same as rank.

Levels are just experience earned through time played.

Ranks are hidden numbers that are determined by your skill.

Rank is how you are matched, not level.

Rank determines nothing about skill level. And pairing poeple up with a similar levels would increase matchmaking times as there's fewer players available. The system would only be searching for players (+/-) 10 or 20 levels from your rank.

Further, seeing as Gears 3 used a "re-up" ranking system, which is completely optional, you could have people playing since day one , who are better than others, that stopped at Bronze Wings.
Not to mention only those with DLC had the choice to re-up.

Okay i see, but still this doesnt explain why a team full of randoms with 2.0 k/ds would get matched with another team of randoms with 1.5s and below.

depends on the overall team skill levels. Figure it 1-50. They won't match a team with an average of 35 against ONLY a team of 35. Enemy team might be 32. or 30. They allow for small adaptations.

But from my experience (especially in ranked) the sides seemed unbalanced meaning a team with an average of 35 against a 41. I know it cant be perfect but the system pumps out unbalanced teams all the time. Also i know all matchmaking uses true skill from microsoft so if they cant improve matchmaking then thats understandable.

You have to remember, it doesn't go off levels, but "True Skill"-- Something I never even understood lol

NFI, he was the one to point out how it all actually works, but as far as red 78 going against white 78, the game only see's "78".

The color has nothing to do with true skill, but matchmaking is based on how the team plays overall-- Game win/ lose ratio plays a big part if I remember right.

Ranked ONLY. Quick match bases it off connection, not True Skill.
