We don't now alot of Fortnite but what we do now that Epic is working on a Pc-Exclusive title could this Fortnite be this pc game? I really would want to see another unreal game but maby I have to wait a bit longer anyway only time can tell but if its now Fortnite or another Unreal game or maby something completely else Epic still got me exited! :D
AfaIk Fortnite is Epic's 20th anniversary title and the PC exclusive is a different one.
Epic announced that the first game for Unreal Engine 4 will ship in 2013, it might even be that PC game as the next generation of consoles seems pretty far away (still) and the hardware is (as I've read) not good enough to run UE4 properly (or at all? But then again, maybe it's just a bluff or strategy with pressure to get the console devs to put better hardware in their "mini-PCs" - that's what they are to me nowadays - before shipping them).

It would make a good arcade game I'm sure. I don't think they'd make it PC exclusive.

I really hope it's not PC only! Looking forward to this game.

Funny thing is that Fortnite was told to be X360 exclusive and i as gamer who owns only PC, have putted this game on shelf named "it's not for my platform, so i don't care" and now it is told to be PC exlusive and i still actually don't care.
@Its Just Rave
Well... As long as it is using UE4 it would run on PCs and upcoming generation of consoles (if they had enough power. Epic could do overkill with UE4) and because "nobody knows" about new generation, so they can't say that Fortnite will be also relased on PS4 and Xbox something. But in your case it probably won't matter as you don't have Ps4 or new Xbox. There could be possibility that castrated version of UE4 which doesn't support all that fancy effects will run on Xbox though. I guess that epic works on UE4 mobile which should work on X360 and PS3, so there is small chance.

So Fornite will be running the game Unreal 4? But Unreal 3 didn't come out yet. There's only Unreal: Return To Na Pali and Unreal II: The Awakening o.0

Many short "Unreal Engine 4" to just "Unreal 4" I hate that they do that but well it's pretty obvious he means the engine :P

I think alot of people put too much faith in what they hear, theres so little news about fortnite, I never remember hearing anything solid about what platforms itd be on till now. I agree with what people are saying, you cant make games for platforms that are non-existant, I wouldnt put this on Epic but Sony and MS if youre a console gamer. I see all the complains about needing a $1000 PC but when the new wave of consoles hit they probably wont be far off that price tag, unless you manage to get the game bundled, just doesnt catch me as a console launch title.

I belive that Fotnite is game which are meant to show that UE4 isn't all about GPU heavy games. It shouldn't have that high requirements. There was epic gamer podcast or something having interview with Tanya Jessen where she said something about Fortnite requirements and that epic want to reach broader audience.

It's not a UT successor, but it looks like it might be silly fun. From a business perspective, it's probably the right direction to go in given the success of Left For Dead and Borderlands.

And don't forget the huge succes of Minecraft. Building stuff is hugely popular atm

It's too bad they didn't take that "broader audience" approach specwise with a UT. Nobody demanded the series had to look super detailed.

I'm gonna have to disagree with you here :p
In the time that the UT games came out, the business was very graphics driven. Your game didn't count unless you had the best graphics.
Nowadays, you see that the market is shifting back to playability of a game again. Sure, there is still a high demand of good graphics, but it's not the most important anymore.

This game isn't similiar to minecraft to be honest. Yes Fortnite allow you to build structures but this is the only simmiliarity and even there it probably won't give you so much freedom like Minecraft does.

I know, I know. It has some bits in it that are the same, but I really hope they're different, lol.

but we need to notice that elements which are different are the strongest elements of minecraft.

Yes, 10 years now. Maybe Epic will bake me a cake?
Anyway, the market shifting back to playability of a game again is a funny concept to me, as it should never be sacrificed for graphics ESPECIALLY for an online shooter. I would even go so far as to say that playability is the core "ideal" if there were ever such a thing in gaming. Also great graphics can be done without being extremely demanding on system specs. It was the mesh detail and post processing that took things a bit too far for this particular title.

Agreed. Unfortunately that didn't always happen.

Lol, if you say so. I'm not really an expert on how games work in detail :)

I need more info, IGN (I think) describes as a Minecraft/Team Fortress morph, might be wrong but that sounds great. Not that concerned if its Pc exclusive of for console too, I just wan't know more, the gameplay wasn't enough lol.
