What makes me laugh about this here forum is the amount of apparently uber awesome playas that exist. Everyone has 2+ k/d and the only reason it's not higher is because of lag.

I love Gears. I'm a very average player with a 1.4 k/d and a 1.0 w/l and I'm not ashamed to admit I've made several errors in MP. So consider this a confessions thread for all the stupid things you've done - be proud people!

I'll get things started:


1) I have on more than one occasion killed myself with the mortar on trenches
2) I have stood next to my own grenades only for it to be detonated by the opposing team
3) I have walked into a 1v1 with a bot thinking it would be an easy kill - only for it to blow me to pieces whilst looking in the opposite direction.

1.) I shoot the boomshot at my feet killing myself.
2.) I've definitely done the bot thing.
3.) I've tried to pull myself into cover only to stand there and get shot.
4.) I've stood out in the open as leader on Aftermath, only to get shot by the opposing sniper 10 seconds in.

Oh the thing's i have done! I think all of us have done something that was embarassing to ourselves.

3.) been beat by a bot two-piecing me with a shotgun
4.) Been Oscar Miked by a Bot with sniper, yeah that happened to me; my jaw hit the floor.
5.) Killed myself with my own digger rushing fwd after firing it
6.) The worst one for me is when i get surprised and try to whip out my shotgun real fast and die with a smoke in my hand like a dumbass.

I'm sure they're others but i can't recall. Those are the ones that stick out.

I got shot at while charging a torque and view kick caused my shot to hit the wall in front of me and because i was getting shot i needed to get into cover. I took cover next to my explosive arrow, things did not end well.

I've done tons of those things. I also like to pop my head in and out of cover when I can clearly see a sniper aimed my way just to tease them. Sometimes I lose my head, sometimes I don't. I also like to chainsaw people that are clearly out of range but it's funny to try.

Haha? who hasn't done anything foolish when playing GOW? I can't think of any combination of events i haven't done... Blow self up? Check! Suicide? Check! Miss a sawed off on three occasions in a row against 1 player! You know the answer! Although that was also a fail on the other player for not killing me via Gnasher. ^_^

Most embarrassing thing in recent memory? hmmm... throwing a frag in a 2v1 situation on Old Town, only for it to bounce back at my feet with just enough time for me to say Ohh No! Ohh SH**?! :p

1) I enjoy trolling players using my Sniper Retro and when they start to rush - corner camp with my Sawed-Off
2) I WILL sacrifice a teammate by tossing in my smoke grenade to set off a Frag if the end result is 2+ enemies die in the process.
3) I will fire a Boomshot at a enemy point blank killing myself and him to ensure if the Boomshot is picked up by his teammate it has one less shot
4) If you are a overly cocky player who trashtalks teammates, I WILL throw a smoke grenade at your planted grenades and purposely run infront of you when you are about to fire your Boomshot.
5) If you hump me, expect it in return - EVERY time I kill you (In which I generally become their nemesis after :P)
6) I boost medals (in private and usually in "Local")
7) I've thrown a frag only to have it hit something the moment I toss it and bounce back right at my feet
8) I've killed myself on Thrashball in the Frag room because I tossed a smoke in there and followed it - forgetting I planted a nade in there shortly before.
9) I've fired the Motar and had it hit something directly above me.......
10) I've had a bot Superman + Hail-mary me....

Ive retro charged with one life left into a group of 5 opposing teammates as the last one alive
Ive pulled off and amazing 1v5 clutch execution only to be killed by my own grenade the next round
ive blind fired a mortar only to have it kicked back to me by the enemy i tried to kill.
Ive used the cheap retro jab tactic.
Ive two pieced with a hammerburst
i rev the chainsaw in a gnasher fight
I will arm rip/ beat down you only if you teabagged me before.
If you were a good opponent i will curbstomp you out of respect

My K/D in KOTH is kind of sucky, 0.9 . The reason is that I play alone and I try to break the circle whenever I can because most of the times the randoms won't do anything.

I am pretty sure that I've killed myself with Frags, Incendiaries, Boomshot, Mortar and Torque Bow at least once :P

I remember a bot blew my head off with a Torque Bow shot across the map. That was actually pretty funny.

The worst thing I can think that I did was kill myself with my own Bag n' Tag of a player. They sent me a PM saying how much of a retard I was. Deserved it too. T_T

Excellent thread, you could get the impression reading this forum that we are surrounded by 'Gears Gods', good to have some average moments exposed.
I have experienced most of the errors of judgement already listed, but my all-time favourite is tea-bagging a downed team mate (only do it to friends) and losing my head to an opponents long-shot.

Running into a gnasher battle...with the lancer equipped.

Yup, done all of those. Also, shot my boomshot at the enemy at point blank range (did that alot over this past weekend).

1. IF i toss a grenade i will hit anything possible in its way and more then likely kill myself with it as it goes exactly where i don't want it, to the extent i know who is watching my screen at the time because they always start laughing.

2.) i have been know to on occasion play a match as cog, and not notice i am locust on the next and either shoot like a maniac at my team mates on the first cap or "back up" an enemy as he grabs a power weapon and procides to kill me.

1,, Standing on top of the hill on Overpass near the scorcher spawn i see somebody through the grates on the floor so i try throwing a flame grenade through it to kill him and it turns out grenades dont go through the grid = SUICIDE

2,, As last man out in TDM on trenches with 8 people left on the opp team. I kill 6 by various methods, down the 7th near the channels leading up to mortar knowing that the last player and worst on their team is at the top of the hill having just picked up the one shot. I meatshielded the 7th forgetting that the one shot goes through meatshields and also blows away everything behind it

I have tried to stand my ground with a gnasher versus a rushing s/o user...silly me thought me shooting him in the face first was a good idea. I have rushed an Idle player just to get chainsawed lol. oh and on many occasions I have tossed a frag in the air while trying to beat it to its destination only to be blown up by it lol.

Alright here's mine:

1) I've gone up to people who weren't at their controller, and have missed my Sawed-off Shotgun shot.
2) I have dropped the scoreboard numerous times, on my teammates in clutch moments on Trashball.
3) I went through the trouble of getting the fire extinguisher on Checkout, only to get executed by it.
4) I've fired the mortar and in the heat of things jumped right into it's range, while trying to not die.

This one is just a random funny occurance.

I blind-fired the mortar yesterday. On Trenches, and it looked like a Richter set. The mortar bounced off 3 different objects, and landed right in front of three guys rushing frags. Funniest trip.

I really thought I was the only one. Every time I roll checkout, my team of randoms wants to break for the torque as opposed to gettin he digger/nades. They will send 4 guys to the torque, all die, and we lose all weapons.

Lets see

Incendiaries, Frags, Mortars and Boomshot, killed myself by them all.
Killed myself by a chest bursting Digger that I fired.
Never been killed by my own Ink, but one has caused me to be killed. Both were stunned, and they recover quicker, though they were closer :mad:.
I've pointed blanked someone with a Boomshot, only for me to be the only one that died :mad:.

-I love shooting the boomshot into a ledge in front of me rather than over it.
-I continuously run up to somebody to gib them with the shotgun and right when I am about to get mad at the game for a sponge, I realize I had my snub out.
-It doesn't matter that I know for certain that the guy I see has a sawed-off, I still always rush them with a Gnasher (or sometimes a snub by mistake).

Was playing with my clan on checkout, covering with Lancer from Ink spawn. Went to toss an Ink to rescue our CTL leader, ended up sitting on a nice blackish blue cloud and dying. Got a nice alugh from all the clan guys though lol

I have routinely run up to bots, missed two gnasher shots, then gotten gibbed.
I commit suicide at least twice a week, most recently with my own ink (wow).
I have gotten my head popped on large maps because I was focused on emptying an entire (non-active) lancer clip on some far-off target.
At least once a week, I rush up to a covered opponent for the easy kill, only to find I'm still holding my lancer after calling for my shotgun.
I have on more than one occasion hip-fired the digger right into the wall in front of me, because I thought it would go over.
I do not pick up the longshot or torque during matches, because my lame connection speed makes hitting moving targets near impossible.
I have given my life to revive a downed teammate, only to realize he's a bot.
I can't seem to remember that the gnasher is not an effective counter to retro charges and sos 1v1s.
I use the sos so rarely, that when I do pull it out out of anger, I routinely fire at targets that are too far away.
I have complemented a player on a nice clutch, only to have the same guy yell at me two games later for being deadweight.
I have never been host, ever, except to a group of nine other bots.
I have finished second to a bot on my team in an all-private match (only for the first round though).
I have 0.7 FOR LIFE tattooed across my chest because of a wildly inconsistent internet provider.

4) I have an insane, practically suicidal style of play thats received much criticism from friends. "Never retreat, hide, or surrender; always charge at the enemy" is my motto. (except when Im Leader)
5) I will always swap out my Gnasher for a rifle when given the chance.
6) There is nothing I fear more than a bot with a shotgun within close range.

2) and mis-judging a barrel role and getting my dome popped or boddied lol
3) Trying to gib a guy the shotgun only to spray him with the lancer. Wow...
4) The ol' "Oh its just a bot, I got this guys" ....... "oh god dammit!"

My K/D is about 0.8 - 1.0 range and win/loss is 1.2 i think

1) I have on more than one occasion killed myself with the mortar on trenches
2) I have stood next to my own grenades only for it to be detonated by the opposing team
3) I have walked into a 1v1 with a bot thinking it would be an easy kill - only for it to blow me to pieces whilst looking in the opposite direction.

I have done all of these things. I also kill myself with the flame 'nades way more then I'd care to admit.

Quick match K/D and W/L ratios are a joke due to teams of all bots.
Ranked stats are legit mostly and lower than quick or overall.
Private matches count towards overall ratios.
So if it's not Ranked ratios, the rest is pointless.

We all make mistakes.

I sometimes push too hard with gnasher when I'm at a clear disadvantage. I lose a lot of lives playing recklessly like that.

I run out to meat-shield kills in warzone-rules gametypes because for the past 6 years all I've played is Execution. I get downed a lot by doing this.

I kill myself with frags all the damn time.

I sometimes rage when I get outplayed, instead of respecting the other player's skill.

I assess team situations too quickly and sometimes run/reposition instead of helping a team-mate.

You guys claim that you guys are average players, but most of the people who posted here have a K/D ratio of 1.5 and above. After months of playing this game, I only manage a 1.0. I guess I'm really that bad huh, worse than an average player. I so wanna die! Ha, just kidding. I love this game despite this. :)

Doesn't mean you are bad, some people have good days and bad days, i have a k/d of 0.6 last time i checked. Had a good night last night though, 5 games out of 6 was last man out and took around 4 or 5 of the other guys to kill me (all where red and green ranks)

I have blown easy clutches in sudden death by various stupid mistakes.
I saw a bot just aiming his hammer burst at me out of cover, so I ran towards him, right when I got into gib range, without moving, her instantly switched to his gnasher and gibbed me.
I have been sniped by bots' gnashers many times, seriously at the range a long shot would be effective I just fall dead because of the damn things.

What makes me laugh about this here forum is the amount of apparently uber awesome playas that exist. Everyone has 2+ k/d and the only reason it's not higher is because of lag.

I love Gears. I'm a very average player with a 1.4 k/d and a 1.0 w/l and I'm not ashamed to admit I've made several errors in MP. So consider this a confessions thread for all the stupid things you've done - be proud people!

1.0 W/L! Ouch! I consider myself average and im a 1.5 k/d 2.0 w/l overall (my k/d was better til i left myself in a private game during the AvE2.0 event for 7 hours AFK!!!!!!). My Ranked stats arent great atm, when i play solo i get positive and win and when im in a "stack" things always go to hell! Very annoying :/

Anyway, confessions...
1) I have Planted a smoke, picked up frags, planted one elsewhere then planted Next to the Smoke....:/
2) I have on several occasions attempted to blind fire throw Incins over cover... :/
3) I have on several occasions left my rear guard exposed, expecting my team mates to protect/warn me...:/

i think its funniest when u wallbounce right to the enemy only for him to hard aim your head off.probably the funniest thing to ever happen is u wall bounce carelessley.its the ultimate way for the uber try hard to get spanked by a hard aiming noob
