I went to try out the Citadel Flash demo. Upon clicking the link I am greeted with the message:

You appear to not have enabled the Adobe Flash Player 11.2 in your Chrome browser. Disable all other Flash Players and enable Flash Player 11.2.

I click the links in the very message that take me to Adobe's site where I can download the latest version of the flash player. Here I am greeted with the message:

Your Google Chrome browser already includes Adobe® Flash® Player built-in. Google Chrome will automatically update when new versions of Flash Player are available.

Soo... one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Epic says I don't have it and Adobe says I do.

Now since the error message from Epic says that I have to disable and enable specific flash players, as if somehow I am running several versions at once, I went through my options and tools for my browser, but there is no such option (at least that I can find in any logical place) that enables me to adjust what version of flash I am using. Honestly, I can't find any options anywhere about Flash.

So, two things come to mind.
One, what the hell, how do I run the demo?
Two, shouldn't Epic provide simple instructions on the demo to help people set-up their systems to run the demo? I mean, if this were a game I created I would be losing customers here because they can't play the game.

I think there was a link on there that you need to go to Adobe's website and download the latest beta version of Flash.

I think there was text in that post that you need to read before replying.

...beta...

There's a difference between the latest version of Flash and the beta version--if it's set to download the latest version then it's not going to download the beta version, which is what's required.

Then where is this "Beta" version?
The UDK link you and I both mentioned still sends me to Adobe's Flash Player site, and that site only has the one download link.
I am sorry to direct this frustration at you, darthviper, but I'm just getting a runaround here. Epic's site is telling me to perform commands that Chrome doesn't seem to have, and you are suggesting I download something that Adobe won't let me.

I can see that the link on UnrealEngine.com/flash is trying to send me to a download for Flash 11.2, but adobe instantly redirects me to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer.html, and from there the only download option I have tells me I'm up-to-date.

Mostly, I don't care that much. I've seen Citadel and I can run it in UDK. But even so it becomes insulting when Epic and Adobe are telling me that it's not their fault.
If Epic is sending me to a specific link, that should be the page where I can find what I'm looking for. But it is not.

It seems to me that I can't be the only one with this problem.

Also when I try to open this month's showcase "MegaTile" level the editor just crashes. I'm really getting an "Epic dropped the ball" vibe this month.

Try updating your Chrome browser (open Tools > About Google Chrome). I got the same message until I updated.

Flash on my computers just updated to 11.2 automatically today, so try and see if Chrome can update itself now

Okay, yep, it just updated today.
I guess the fact that I applied updates yesterday wasn't good enough. ;)
