Snapping Necks

I read a few posts about what the Locusts will have to the equivalent to the Chainsaw, and it seems that no one knows. I was going through my old gears videos and I watched a video of CliffyB talking about gears. I think it was a Tokyo one. He said that the Locusts will be able to snap your neck. the locusts should have a lancer equivelent(they should have equivelents for all weapons), but since in MP both teams start with the same weapons it wont really matter, the Locusts can chainsaw the the COGs can torquebow, both can use any weapon.......

o thats cool, i think that should be anuther finishing off move for both teams in MP, so EPIC, take notes, now we have a curbstomp,chainsaw finish, and possibly even a neck breaking!:D this game is getting more grusome every minute

lol, maybe thats what he forgot to mention is after snapping the neck he ripd their head off. But seriously sanpping someones neck sounds cool, idk maybe I'll run up next to a locust and let him snap my neck just to see it happen.

yeah i think we have all heard about the melee fights, i read in some interview yesterday cliffy said that it almost seems like the whole room melts away and its just focused on the two characters like they are at a prom date but instead of them trying to create a romantic moment they are trying to kill each other, that sounds f*cking awesome

If they had a special melee not incorperated within a weapon, it would be unfair to the COGs because they wouldn't be able to do it. The only way o could see the neck snapping happening would be if it was in place of the curbstomp, or if the COGs had a special melee attack apart from any weapon.

I was saying if they did snap necks, it would probably be in place of the curbstomp. Unless the COGs had something to balance it out, or the attack was connected to a certain weapon somehow because it would be unfair to the COGs that the locusts could use the chainsaw as well as snap necks.

it's possible that There could be a stealth attack for COG's and Locusts which is sneaking up behind someome and snapping there neck.

I'll probably say this in my own topic, but snapping necks could go with a little stealth manuever I thought about. Drone could tunnel into the earth, come up behind you, and snap your neck. I'm working on confirmation of the drones having the ability to tunnel.

but locusts are way bigger than humans, so you expect them to be stronger too. snapping necks wont be a problem! maybe it will only work from behind or from the sides. but imagine huge melee battles where everybody is curbstomping eachother and the sound of cracking bones makes you puke. scattered around the map are lancers without ammo and grenades, for some chainsaw fun :D

I dunno...for some reason, necksnapping seems a bit too pedestrian for GoW. Don't get me wrong, I'm a gigantic Splinter Cell fan, but when I think of necksnapping that's the first game I think of. Chainsawing or curbstomping are far closer to what GoW is all about: over the top brutality.

If there is going to be a necksnap, let's make it a replacement animation for the curbstomp that only Locusts can use. Instead of crushing the other guy's skull let's have it so the Locusts almost remove it instead. :D

Are you dissing SC?! Anyway I think it should be used as lost resort, maybe if your out of Grenades and everything but your pistol, the special melee kill for a pistol is a necksnap.

Exactly. I'm a rabid SC fan, but the Sam Fisher necksnap is a touch too subtle to be used in GOW. The Locust need a brutal as hell, one-handed, jarring snap. Like I said, it should be closer to a decapitation. :D

Uday's right about that. CliffyB was probably referring to neck snapping as a SP only thing for Locusts though.

Like someone else said, they should just like completely turn their waist and fist into your head (like a huge and fast windup punch, except it's not really a punch) and it breaks your neck. Thats brutal.
