Y u No Let Me Be My Character?!

So everyone understands they join a game they have a chance of getting their character if their chosen skin was loaded via bots or other players. If not you get lame old fat Marcus or boring Drone.

Now my issue with this scenario is, I really get annoyed when I'm in the same lobby and have not left, and when the next match loads up, it says I joined a session in progress and sadly gives me previous mentioned Marcus/Drone. Its one thing to not get my character in joining a game, its another thing when I don't get my character in the same lobby. Anyone wanna explain what went down with that? Its happened before but as of late it has been occurring way too often. I even saw my friend playing in my lobby, he said he got the message for joining a session in progress even when we have not left the lobby in a couple games, yet it gave him his character skin anyway. I'm very confused to the situation of not getting your preferred character when you're in a lobby already. Just thought I'd rant. I don't care that much, to let it stop me from playing but I don't like being Marcus, he's lame. Played him enough during the campaign.

I like Marcus/Drone but hate it when we HAVE to play as him because no one is playing as Dom Cole or Grenadier Elite or Hunter.
Epic should try implementing a system that when your character doesn't load it trys to see if any similar characters could be loaded.

For example: If I play as a Flame Grenadier it should try to load me as Grenadier Elite or Hunter(The difference is the helmets) if it fails loading the grenadier more examples(in character groups for graphics to load) could be Grenadier and Hunter Elite or Cog Gear, Clayton Carmine(normal), and golden gear, A.Carmine B.Carmine and C.Carmine(recruit),Theron, Savage Theron, and Theron Elite, Dizzy Wallin(normal) Big Rig Dizzy(DLC), or Beast Rider, Miner, and Spotter.

NOTE:You need to have unlocked another variation of the character for it to load you as it, like if you didn't unlock have hunter or flame grenadier but you wanna play as Grenadier Elite it will either set you as Drone or Savage Grenadier(depends if his Graphics are loaded).

I don't get it either but I assume it's just a bug. It's not like it's a consistent thing, although it can happen a few games in a row.

I don't really mind using drone because I have sniper as my main locust and there look the same either way :P

But playing as Marcus over and over can get annoying. I want mah Baird :(

I normally just leave after the second map if I don't get my character, it can get annoying.

I think you should get a back up character so that if it fails to load the other one not a problem with the secound guy cause I hate marcus

I thought that maybe you are actually put into another game that was starting up that wasn't full, it.mixes your game with another and your character wasn't loaded so u get the default

It's just a bug w the mp file loading that isn't enough of a big deal to waste time on.

yes because in the beta there was a lot less characters to choose from so the servers pre-loaded the few you could pick without suffering any memory limitations.
now that there is so many characters there is not enough memory to load every single character + all their lines of dialogue per match.
