New Weapon Skin Ideas

I just thought I'd open a thread for suggesting new weapon skin ideas. Here are a few of mine:

White Noise - An animated skin that emulates the static of a television without a signal.

Antiquated - An older style static skin that gives each respective weapon worn wooden handles and tarnished brass accents.

Green Metal - Another static skin that emulates the team metal set, but with the bright green of the liquid green metal skin.

Razor Hail - An animated skin that looks like falling razor hail. Some shards glimmer when it catches the light.

Stained Glass A static skin that recreates the features of each weapon with a vibrant collage of stained glass.

Haz-Mat - A static skin that sports caution tape yellow as its primary and dark black as its secondary. A few rust spots can be added to the design for flavor.

Glam - Just how it sounds. Makes your guns look like they lost a fight with a Bedazzler or, if you need a more masculine reason, makes them look jewel encrusted. Can also glitter in the light.

Anyway, those are a few. Would anyone else like to share any of their ideas?

I seen a kind of purple glass weapon skin in-game a week or two ago, was definetely really trippy. Your stained glass idea kind of reminded me of that. I love all of those idea's they're definetely more unique then any of the cookie cutter ideas suggested in the past.

I'd like to see blue flaming weapons, but that'll never happan lol.

Maybe as a "limited edition" version of the regular flame set for people that didn't get them. I mean they added those "LE" skins for the preorder characters so you never know. :)

A couple more that I thought up:

Wire Frame - Though this static skin would be more akin to the lack thereof it explains itself. A basic moving wire-frame model of your weapons.

Crayon - An animated skin that emulates each weapons features as if they are constantly being scribbled by crayon on a paper-like background. Multiple colors make it festive.

Ripples - A more demure animated skin to imitates drops of water hitting a still pool casting ripples with every drop that spread the length of the gun. Also reflects light quite well.

Xbox Classic - A static skin in homage to the original Xbox. Black primary and bright green secondary accents with perhaps an omen or team symbol like "X".

Volcanic - An animated skin similar to the Immulsion skin but with more movement and the color scheme of flowing magma.

War Hero - A static skin that sports red leather handles, brass or gold accents, and a large embry star emblem. Inspired by the embry star ceremony from the Aspho Fields novel.

Edict - A slightly animated skin that sports a marble background, with a glowing team based (red or blue) statement. For gears, "Brothers 'Till The End." For locust, well... I'll have to work on that.

Anyway, there are a few more. Any one else have any suggestions?

This is what I really want but in multiple colours. Team Metal was the only skin I wanted to buy, they're simple, clean and just look really great.

I can agree with this sentiment. The Team Metal set does look great. In fact, I think it's one of the only skins that look decent on the SoS. (With the other skins being the Deadly Cute, Chrome, and Gold.) It's probably my favorite skin out of all of the ones you can purchase and I think it would be great to add a few colors in their ilk.

I saw this one guy in old town with a purple liquid skin, it had some blue and black, it was wierd and i actually picked his gun up, i think their Epic employees making their own unique skins.

That wouldn't surprise me. I'm sure plenty of modders are messing around with the game to make their own skins too. I'd seen one before that was kind of hard to describe. It was a sort of translucent red and it showed the guns' details in the light and looked nearly invisible in the dark. I picked it up and played around with it a bit, but I've yet to see it since.

Here's a few ideas my friends and I have come up with:
Ice - A static skin with the effect of ice
Wooden- Self explanatory
Lego - A static skin with the effect of Lego blocks that changes color each time you respawn
Glass - A static skin that's see-through to replicate the effect of glass
Disco ball - An Animated skin that flashes different color shapes on a silver gun
Grass - An animated skin that's similar to flame but with the effect of grass swaying in the breeze
White Gun with Onyx Omen - A mixture of animated and static skins the gun has a White liquid effect whilst the Omen would be shiny and static
Custard - An animated skin that's a liquid yellow
Smoke - An animated skin with the effect of smoke
Liquid Nitrogen - An animated skin that's a really light blue/white color with white smoke at the top of the gun
Fizzy Soda - An animated skin with the effect of bubbles rising from the bottom to the top of the gun with different color guns
Team Liquid - An Animated skin with liquid blue for the COG team and liquid red for locust
Slime - An animated skin with green slime dripping down the gun
Cotton Candy - A static skin that's pink n color like cotton candy
Team killer - A static skin with the words "Grub killer" if you're on the COG team on a blue metal background and the words "COG Killer" on a red metal background if you're on the locust team for all the Clayton Carmine fans out there
Beer - An animated skin with a light brown background and the top of the gun is white and splashes about as you walk or run
Blizzard - An animated skin with the effect of a really bad snow storm
Sunset - An animated skin with the effect of a sunset
Moonlight - An animated skin with the effect of the moonlight with clouds moving over it
Hot Chocolate - an animated skin with the effect of chocolate moving around with a marshmallow moving around
Fish tank - An animated skin with a couple of goldfish swimming around
Country flags - Self Explanatory
Neon/Ultraviolet - an animated skin with the effect of bright neon lights
Bouncy ball - An animated skin with a white background and a little pink bouncy ball that moves around the gun as you walk or run
Traffic lights - An animated skin with the effect of traffic lights with the colors green for your clip if full, amber for when the gun is low on ammo and red for when you're reloading
Checkered - A static skin with a checkered effect of black and white squares
Rust - An animated skin with the effect of the gun tarnishing during the battle
Fireworks - an animated skin with firework exploding on the gun
Party poppers - an animated skin with party poppers being fired from random spots on the gun with different colored strips
Ying and Yang - a static skin with a little ying and yang emblem on the gun on different colored backgrounds
Sirens - An animated skin with the effect of a police cars sirens
Sandstorm - an animated skin with the effect of a sandstorm
Animal Skins pack - A weapon pack with different animal skins
Toxic - An animated skin with the effect of a green mist
Kryll/hammer strikes - An animated skin with the effect of kryll for locusts and hammer of dawn strikes for the COG
Water Gun - an animated skin with a green background with a tank of water which depletes as you fire your gun
Team Defence - a static skin which simulate the effect of razor wire for the COG team and Chains for the locusts
Comic Strip - A Static skin with the effect of a comic strip
Bamboo - a static skin with the effect of bamboo
Meteor - an animated skin with the effect of flaming balls moving around the gun on a black background
Mirrored - a static skin that reflects the surroundings in the gun
Locust skin - a static skin that used the skin of a locust drone
Hurricane - an animated skin with a mini hurricane moving around the gun
wet paint - an animated skin with the effect of paint dripping down the gun and the color changes each time you spawn
paint splats - a static skin with the effect of multi-colored paint splats scattered around the gun
Molten lava - an animated skin with the effect of lava slowly moving around the gun with pieces of magma
Rated 18 - a static skin with the number 18 in a red circle
Shiny Bronze - A static skin with the effect of a shiny bronze color
Blood Onyx - An animated skin with the effect of Liquid red and Liquid onyx moving around the gun together

I quite like the burning texture you get, which you can see best on a freshly killed silverback. I think that would look pretty beastly.

They should have skins like the Team Metal ones that come in alot of different colors.

Team graffiti -Red background that says LOCUST in a graffiti spelling and then COG

I would loved to see new weapon skins. I hope they don't release the fire skins, should have played the BETA to get them.

I don't like skins, I think that are an extra load that slows the game. (but maybe I'm wrong)

Anyway many skins reveal easily the enemy and it's funny to see someone hiding behind a wall with his "pink gnasher" protruding LOLOLOLOL :D :D

Was it at all comparable to a prism type weapon skin? If so I also think I've seen it, not just once but a couple of different times, albeit not lately. I believe it's some kind of team weapon skin - as I've seen it in both blue (almost light light purple or dark teal) as well as red.

Perhaps team prism. Maybe we'll get to see it in the new FoN dlc.

I've also picked up a couple of those Epic exclusive weapon skins, a long time ago. I don't know the correct term, but it's almost like a team holographic weapon skin. Almost see through, while retaining team colors. The kids I take 'em from are usually only level 20-50. Mostly easy to kill, never reply to messages asking how to acquire said skin. Leads me to believe they're on a modded console. Which is why I generally file complaint. :P

I think a whirlpool animated effect with black and any other color would be pretty sweet. (Maybe even alternate colors)

Onyx weapons are essentially black liquid metal. Kind of a let down on the gnasher to be honest, however the rifles look really nice in onyx.

It seemed more like the Epic exclusive weapon skins that you just mentioned, but now that I think about it a prismatic skin would look pretty nice and it wouldn't need but a red or blue hue to it to make it team compatible.

I've always wanted them to do a Sports Pack DLC for weapon skins. I would love to see the Canucks logo on my Retro Lancer and Gnasher.

These all sound like excellent ideas and could look really really nice *drool*
But I believe there shouldn't be any weapon skins in the first place, other than chrome and gold. I think they make the game to colorful. But that's just me.
