GSC Add mode not working, not adding mass just pink/red outline box HELP please??

Hey, I've been watching a lot of tutorials, and it's been going fine, I've only just started using the GSC tool again after a while of practising with the terrain, anyway whenever i try to add mass to my cube by using the " GSC Add mode" it doesn't seem to do anything but make the red outlines on the box Pink. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? I've also heard i might be working in the wrong mode such as "Subtractive mode" but apparently when you create a new map by clicking File>New it comes up with two options to select Additive" Or subtractive mode, well mine doesn't any answers on the problems which i'm having guys? Please Help, thanks.

1) Those tutorials must be very old as Subtractive mode has long since been removed.
2) Ensure that you are in the right viewport mode. If you're in brush mode, all you will see is the brush outlines, and the red bounding box is always visible. Viewport modes are shown at the top of the viewport as little cubes.

Bump, the problem is still happening, it doesn't seem to work for me :(((

Have you rebuilt? It naturally becomes pink/purple, as you are adding a blue brush under the builder brush.
