First question, me and a buddy did waves 1 - 39 on insane last night. We tried to get done with wave 40 but ran outta time had to get sleep for work. To get 1 - 50 insane horde onyx achievement do we need to start at 31 - 50 or can we just start at wave 40? It only awards ribbons after the boss round is why I don't know abouty waves 31 - 39 that we got done would count.

Second question, what in your opinion is the best map for 2 people insane horde? We would be starting on either wave 31 or 40 depending on how it is counted.

Thanks for any helpful information

I'm pretty sure it saves you at Wave 40. At least thats what Gears 2 did. You won't get the ribbon for doing it all in one sitting, but you should get the onyx medal for doing it all on insane.

Yes, you were saved at the 40th wave.

You were saved at wave 40. But there is a cheevo ( long haul) for doing it straight thru in one sitting. Not sure if that needs to be done on insane or not.
As far as maps on insane. I'd suggest Old Towne, any map where you can setup and focus fire on the entrances but also have an escape route in case the base gets overwhelmed. Overpass is great but since it's just the 2 of you, it will be really tough to get down the stairs in the heat of the battle. Don't forget your mutators, super reload, infinite ammo and insta gib. Go get em, add me if you want a 3rd my user name is my GT.

The achievement does not have to be done in one sitting (Enriched and Fortified) but the Ribbon (long hauler) does.

There are a few maps that many consider the easiest. IMO Overpass is still the easiest overall. I'd also add Blood Drive, Azura and Trenches to the easy list.

If you take the top base in Overpass and get the two turrets up there, plus the put the silverback on the left side and use it for back up to the turrets you'll get to 50 in no time. Buy a base or two to run to when the berzerkers come out to play.

Good luck and pop me an invite if you need help.
