question about boxes

on the right side is a box of ammo. where do these boxes come from? and what are they?

Thet are planted within the levels for you to obtain. they give you ammo. You feeling okay?:p :confused:

they planted there in advance they give you equipment, we dont question ammo in a firefight.

Yea in his gamespot demo, he was trying to find grenades but couldn't in the boxes so they must be random. Also, they are more than likely random because Cliffy said when you find grenades (I am quoting), it's like "Ooo a cookie!"

lol, just like in other games the ammo n stuff is there for the "bad-guys" not u, but then u get to take it.......:D

Not in this prison, this prision if you get in a fight, they will saw off your arm, or shoot you in the leg, or throw a grenade in your toilet.

who knows he is in military prison, and the COG did sentence him, so the guards of the COG's prison might also use lancers and shotguns.......:)

I found something out!!! The ammo boxes aren't random! If you watch the e3 06 demo of the 1st level, after cliffy shoots the locust with the shotty toward the end, a little past halfway, when he walks past a box it says grenades on the bottom of the screen.
Edit: It's around 1:15 in this movie.

lol just found that snoopy video like 10 min ago, lol, but yet some boxes say "(grenades)", but that probably just means that u got grenades, b/c when marcus got other ammo boxes, like in the area near the end of the e3 demo, it didnt say anything, it just gave him ammo, and Rod said something like "lets see if the box has grenades", or something but, idk, but it implied that there could be grenades in any box, im not sure, w/e, i think its random ammo, and sometimes u get nades, but when u do get nades the games tells u with "(grenades)", b/c its like a cookie;) , and i dont think ammo boxes always have a caption, like "(lancer ammo)" or something, it only happens when u get nades with ammo, not sure though

Yea now that i think about it, it could be random but tell you if there are grenades. I don't know what i was thinking. I just saw the grenades caption and i have never seen that before. It led me to believe that what was in those boxes was predetermined but i have no idea why i thought that.:confused:

when it says "grenades" on the bottom of the screen, thats because he hit the 'Y' button, and the point-of-interest told him what was in the ammo box. it didnt mean he got grenades, it meant that the point-of-interest was focused on the box, and it said that there were grenades in it..:)

ya i know that, i just forgot to add that in, let me rephrase my idea, in an ammo box there could be anything, including ammo and grenades, but since ammo is not that rare and grenades are quite rare, maybe when u click "Y" and see some ammo box it says grenades, b/c its kinda a big deal to get nades, b/c i dont think that if cliffy would have used "Y" on the other ammo boxes that it would have said "lancer ammo" or something, i think that ammo boxes are full of random ammo and nades, but if u press "Y" then it tells u if it has nades but im not sure what it would say it the box didnt have nades, o well, maybe the boxes arent random maybe some have nades some have ammo, im not sure..........w/e:)
