SO upset! All my medals and progress and rank reset to zero!

Title is self explanatory. Everything was reset like I just put the game in my xbox brand new. No more onyx medals and I don't have my golden Gnasher anymore which is even more highly upsetting. Suggestions?

True. But as far as my level 100 and all my progress for my medals my chances for that returning are...? Slim to none?

If you haven't done so already, don't go into a player match. Head to this thread, and see if you can recover your information. No promises, but it may help.

Thanks for all the help folks, but alas it didn't work. Apparently it doesn't work after you go into a loading screen after it happens and I took a friend's suggestion of starting a match in which the game had to load. I tried this method immediately after I read up on it and still nothing. Looks like I'm back to square one now. I was determined to get Seriously 3.0 but I am entirely discouraged and sick of all the bugs and glitches. So I will just play for ****s and giggles now. Again thanks for all the feedback and advice to try and fix this.

Interesting how Epic cant do like Assassins Creed does and always have a back-up save file on your HD. This makes no sense to me in this day and age of all the technology we have. How could there not be back-ups?

If this happened to me I would never play an Epic game ever again.

Sorry to hear that. Never had it happen to me personally but my roommate had it happen, and now the "For the Horde!" medal flat out refuses to unlock. Doesn't help that it was already unlocked on Insane before the reset. Here's to hoping Epic will finally get this fixed.

The part that kills me is that I called microsoft they pretty much gave me the same suggestion and I asked them if I could call Epic and they said they couldn't do anything because they don't have a solution. Meanwhile, my friend gave me the idea to try and call them because when he used to play Halo, something similar happened to him and he called Bungie and they gave him free stuff. Now thats a called good business and marketing. At least they tried to make up for it. I can't even get ahold of Epic unless its through email? Ha! Ridiculous.

And even if I did get ahold of them they wouldn't wanna do anything? Whatever! And they can't say they wouldn't be able to help fix it or offer free stuff. They are game developers. They can do whatever the hell they like. They made an xbox cake for goodness sake. Least they could do is put my medals at gold or something because that's a where a majority of them were at anyway. And give me my bottom row of onyx medals too!

I spent over $600 on this game hoping it would be better and it ends up being the same. Last time I ever do that. Its down to regular copies of games for me now. No more getting special xboxs specifically designed to mdel after the game and no more "EPIC" editions for me.

Its your XBOX stuffing up when it was writing to your gamertag data. It's synced with Microsoft so if you get reset DON'T START ANYTHING when you go OMG i'm level 1, DASHBOARD IT no if but maybe DO IT then delete your profile(keep items) then recover your gamertag. This will recover your NON-RESET gamertag data from Microsoft and you will be saved :) But if you have started a match even in private ANY MATCH AT ALL this will save your NEW RESET DATA to Microsoft and ruin ANY chance of getting it back. Hope this stops it happening ever again. If anyone doesn't understand me just PM me I'll be happy to explain so you NEVER suffer a RESET again.

P.S. It's happened to me in Gears3 but the above method worked for me just like it worked with Gears2. Just relax the xbox is just a PC in disguise running a gutted modified version of windows. You can beat it if you try ;)

This happened to me about a half hour ago. At first I was just furious, but now that I've calmed down a bit I know technical difficulties do occur. I'll still play this amazing game, I just home they fix this before they lose a large amount of fans. It really does suck. It's like the past four months never even happened. The countless hours I put into it all for nothing. I'll probably catch up on some Arkham City as the time being to wait for a patch or something. At least my girlfriend will be stoked to get more attention lol.

Chris, i give u props for grinding ur way through it again. I know it blows man, happened to me twice at lvl 100, i havent played the game in months because i cant go through it all again for the third time. Just isnt fair. I worked my way all the way up to top 10 in the world, level 100 twice. so many onyx medals TWICE to get it all taken away. But yahh enjoy the game without worrying about ur level. U will get back to 100 sooner or later. Just play for fun and let ur rank go up slowly rather than just playing certain game types to get it up. U will enjoy the game a lot more now. Also back up ur file incase you ever get reset again so u can recover ur rank and w.e u had. Best of luck in the future

Sooooo upset with EPIC right now...I got reset as well...I was a level 79 with every ribbon...and I believe 15 Onyx medals...I hope there is a fix for this or I am hanging up my gears boots for good...maybe its high time to give Halo an honest try...

If you had the old guard medal...you should be able to get your gold weapons back after logging in midnight.
