"Hammer of Dawn" Weapon

has anyone heard of this "Hammer of Dawn" Weapon, its supposed to be like an Artillery strike from BF2, maybe its the 4 lasers in that video that come together and blow up, i don't know, i also heard(in the same article) that they might have some weapon that lets u shoot arrows......i can't really explain it, CAN SOMEONE FROM EPIC EXPLAIN,

so what do u guys think of this stuff?

Its those 4 lasers from the video! :) You control it and if your buddy (co-op) makes one and puts it in yours it becomes 4 times as powerful! Also you both have to point in the same direction for it to move! Very cool feature!:)

frag grenade
smog grenade(i think can anyone confirm it?)
flash bang grenade

sniper
rocketlauncher
i heard some ppl that played the MP demo at E3 say they saw a Gatling gun
i also heard Epic say that they will have some more weapons, and a couple of unique ones!

btw the Hammer of Dawn isnt like a weapon its probably like a computer or something that u can activate and kill lots of ppl! and the arrow thing is a complete mystery to me

The Hammer of Dawn sounds badass, and since Epic made UT I wouldn't be surprised if it operated somewhat like the Ion Sattelite in UT2k3/2k4, if it is a usable weapon.

no i dont think it is a bow, in the article i read they made it seem like it was (going to sound dumb and wierd) a turrent or something, or something that makes u zoom out of the map and then u are able to shoot at enemies from far, i don't know its sounds wierd but i guess we will find out soon.......................CAN SOMEONE FROM EPIC HELP US UNDERSTAND PLEASE:eek:

Cliffy called it basicly the "finger of god" its like a giant lazer from the sky that you can use to get people behind cover. If you and a friend make one at the same time they can connect to become one with 4 times the power. Then to move it, you both have to point in the same direction for it to move. So its kinda hard over live!:). Their is also a section in the June issue of OXM that talks about it!

By the way, there is also a rocket launcher and the same amount of locust guns as gears' guns!

I dont know how they will accuire it but i know the AI dom (and other squad mates) will make these and even give you heads up when you should make one! Each squad member has like 5 million lines and tell you where people are and how many are left an stuff. This game is so great!:)

I think you go to a screen that shows the map zoomed out and pick where to start it. I dont know for sure... An birds eye view would be so insanely sick!!!! My gosh, so much different gameplay ideas can be expressed in this game without the controlles being hard. Everyone says there very smooth and human!:)

So personally I think it will resemble an equipable weapon that paints the target for the lasers, as for guiding them it certainly would be easier to do from a top-down perspective.

Well there called mini-games liek the reload, because there optional. There is currently (all i can remember) the reload, the hammer of dawn, and last year they talked about a feature that includes locust's trying to take your gun and you have to fight them off. but they only talked briefly about it in the newst issue of OXM.

the hammer of dawn is a laser that comes down from above. it takes a while to charge up, and if two people both launch the behemoth, the laser is twice as big, but you have to work as a team to move it. If one guy moves it left and the other moves it right, it goes straight.

Ya its more for getting behind enemy's cover. like a spot you cant get to with out dieing. Thats what ive read when i looked into it! :) Cool someone knows what im talking about though! Good issue of OXM, but too bad the pics were of an rough early build because it was right before E3 and they couldn't give away their E3 bang! :) Hopefully the new issue of GameInformer will have some info on it! :)

The arrow is a weapon called the Torquebow which, when the bolt is in an enemy, you hit the fire botton that makes a charge on the end of the arrow explode

no you dont have to align it, thats the "HoD" (Hammer of Dawn), i think it will be like you shoot 1 arrow, then your character has to reach on his back and take out anuther then load it into the torquebow then shoot again kinda like how a shotgun shoots then cocks then shoots then cocks

Dude...This thread is ancient. The last reply was in July before yours. It appears like no one really had a REAL clue back then as to what the HoD did. I liked the one where you have to manually trigger the torque box to explode... The epic designers probably had fun reading threads like this back when the game was in development...
