I've been playing Gears throughout the entire trilogy; I remember when you use to search for a player Gears of War 1 match with Friendly Fire enabled, and it use to turn into a mass Free For All session, especially on Raven Down. I use to spend hours on end playing these type of games, and it'd be great if those memories could come back.
The same with Gears of War 2 private matches...
Does anyone else remember this?

I'm not going to 'beg' nor spam the forum to try and get this playlist; it'd just be nice to see a playlist like this that a small proportion of the community might enjoy, so I'll just put a poll above the post, and you can decide if you'd like to support a FFA playlist in Gears of War 3, or you object to it.

The objective of the FFA playlist, isn't just the first person to reach a certain amount of kills; you can have different variants of game times that you usually see on other games such as 'Halo 3'.
King of the Hill (First to 60 captures points)
Slayer (First to 30 kills)
Torque bow tag (First to 20 kills)
Snipers (First to 20 kills)

The time limit of the FFA would be set at 15 minutes.

Leave a comment on your thoughts, thank you.

I vote no. Wingman is close enough, and Gears was based on being a TEAM game. There's no room for being alone, and it wouldn't work with "Brothers to the end"

I would love to see a Free-For-All playlist. It's the only sort of game mode I would really do particularly well in; in any shooter I find it easier to win in a game mode where the only person I need to rely on is myself. I'd take that any day.

What I'd personally like to see though, is a private match which can be customised fully. What I mean is the host can actually, for example, pick what weapons each player starts with. If every player in the match could have a torque bow and a sniper as their starting weapons, by all means pick it. There is a lot of customisation to be had in a private match with friends. It might also make social events very enjoyable if you can mix things up a lot more in Private games. Might also encourage people to go for the Wingman/Execution/Warzone/TDM/KOTH/CTL medals by playing with friends legit instead of AFK farming matches for onyx and/or Prescott.

But I'd definitely be in favour of Free-For-All. How would a spawn system work though? 10 players, one in each corner? in some cases the spawns would be too close. Like Checkout for instance. Unless you made it something like five or six players, it might be a little hectic. Definitely able to work though.

Wingman is NOT close enough. Being someone who plays strictly lone wolf/ FFA gametypes in other shooters, I can tell you that wingman is completely different and doesn't have the same feeling AT ALL.

Thank you for the positive feedback.

I'd also like that too, a fully customizable private match would be great, and I'm pretty sure the entire community would favour it.

I haven't thought through how the spawn system would work, yet; although I think the lobby should have a maximum of 6 players, otherwise it'll get too hectic, and the game's won't be lasting that long.
The spawns would be tricky, because you might end up having the same problem as CoD does in FFA, you get players spawning right next to each other, or just around the corner. I agree with your idea of each person spawning in a corner of the map at the start of the game, but re-spawning during the game, I think the spawn systems should rotate around the entire map, E.G Trenches, one time you'll spawn in the Bunker Spawn, another time in the Nest and another in the Mine section of the map; It'll definitely need some work though to perfect the spawning system and to make sure that players can't easily spawn trap.

I personally don't think any gametype other than FFA TDM would be necessary.

Infinite respawns

First to 25
