You can't always stop every DBS user from killing you, and sure as heck can't predict where they are going to be on each map, and if they will be behind you at times. But what you can do is learn to avoid them. While at the same time, stepping up your game, and learning to not rage as much when you get killed by one. This isn't gears one or two anymore guys. The sawed-off made sure of that.

Here are a few things you can do if you want to force yourself to get better. Learn how to stop being so hot headed and charging everywhere with your gnasher! I know that's what i used to do, but that doesn't work as well on this game :P

Before you jump into multiplayer, try out some horde mode first. Get into your gaming zone, while at the same time, getting into your comfort zone as well. Raise up that difficulty to either hardcore or insane. That'll help you learn to be more tactical. How? Well, whenever you play horde mode, do you charge around the whole map, killing enemies endlessly with your gnasher, every wave? Well that DOES NOT work! Learn to break this habit guys.

Playing horde before multiplayer can help you in many ways. Because you will be in cover more, you will use your rifles more, and you will learn to use those power weapons the map has to offer! Also, you will know when it's the right time to pull out your gnasher for that close combat. That is, if you still have it on you. Now to get to the part on how this has to do with you countering the sawed-off!

After giving it your best in horde, the tactics you just used will still be stuck on you when you begin to start playing multiplayer! You'll be in cover more, you'll rifle down enemies from afar, and you'll be more careful on how you approach an enemy on the battlefield. Especially one's with the sawed-off. You will start to wonder why you are killing more of those guys. Because you are learning to play more tactically, stupet! :D

ZOMG! I'm starting to rifle down those DBS users from afar when they rush, instead of being super close to them without thinking they will wallbounce towards me and kill me! Or eat my gnasher bullets and dodge roll towards me while pulling that trigger afterwards! ZOMGCHICKENTENDERS! I'mma put a couple shotty bullets in them and dodge roll back when they charge! NO, STUPET! USE YOUR RIFLE!

Once you learn to stop dying by this as much as you do, you won't rage as much when you kill 6 DBS user's in a row and die by that 7th one.

All i'm saying is, don't let a noob with a stupid weapon kill you because you were too stubborn to out smart him. It's just something to keep in mind. If you have another method, that's fine. But it will feel DAMNED good to let those dbs users know that you have a rifle and KNOW how to use it if they try and charge.

I think part of the problem is TDM. People don't value their lives and just go DBS kamakaze style. It's also hard to keep track of them b/c they keep respawning. In short they're just easier to eliminate and the cause of a lot fewer deaths in warzone than TDM. I really can't understand why the warzone lobbies are so empty - the population is almost always around 3500 or so.

I run around with my gnasher out in MP all the time and obliterate DBS users. People that whine about it being OP must be really bad at this game, because it is not a hard weapon to counter at all.

It's only hard to counter when it comes to lag, other than that it's cake to counter. I agree that i rush around with my gnasher as well. I press left on the D-pad as soon as the match starts, but i always have to change to my rifle when it comes to a DBS user. They take over a clip from a gnasher when i shoot them as they charge, so that's why i's starting to use my rifle more. Just sucks how every single type of BS can happen in a 1v1 situation against a DBS user.

ill be posting a guide regarding the use of dbs and gnasher since people are still having hard time overcoming dbs users and yes you can predict where campers will be. KOTH and CTL are even easier to predict where campers will be since players are forced to go to way point and now its up to you to locate them and flank them

Sorry, but taking cover to avoid death =/= camping.

If you decide to run around the map, not making wide turns around corners, then complain about the Sawed-off, then that's your problem. As someone else said, adapting your whole playstyle might be a way to beat the Sawed-off.

Of course, your playstyle might still be "run around the map hugging the walls", in which case, that's what you need to change.

But I'm not saying everybody does this. Only some people, and those are normally the ones that complain about the Sawed-off. Seriously, you will have to fix something you are doing in-game in order to not be killed by the Sawed-off, and it's probably this.

How to Avoid the Sawed-off Shotgun (from a player who hates it).
Step 1. Begin playing any match in the game.
Step 2. Identify a Sawed-off that's gunning for you.
Step 3a. Use your rifle to down the man if he runs to you.
Step 3b. If he wallbounces and you can't hit him, or you find yourself outnumbered / at a disadvantage, RUN AWAY. (They will always come to you, I promise.)
Step 3c. If he chases, don your devious grin, for you are about to achieve victory (especially if he is roadie running).
Step 3d. Dive backwards, past the Sawed-off persuer.
Step 4a. Obliterate him with your Gnasher, exacting ultimate justice and gleening a sense of satisfaction.
Step 4b. Snub / Lancer his legs, DBNO'ing him, and beat him with his own arm, or in the face, for practically the rest of the match, exacting ultimate justice and gleening a sense of satisfaction.
Step 4c. Saw his spine in half, spraying his inners into the air, aggitating the player enough to come to the Epic forums to complain, exacting ultimate justice and gleening a sense of satisfaction.
Step 5. Repeat.

Actually the guys that sit and lancer camp are the ones that piss me off more then the ones with the SOS. Once you are under fire from a camper, the stopping power of the lancer is ridiculous. You have trouble rolling away for to the side. Which doesnt make sense that if you are running away from a camper, getting shot in the backside will slow you down?!?!

In a 1v1 situation, i can usually handle myself against a SOS user. But its those lancer campers that piss me off most of the time.
