I'm making this thread to once again bring attention to EPIC the fact that the Domination Achievement requires a time stamp.

This is ridiculous. ESPECIALLY because VG does not. For a FACT my little brother bought and BEAT Gears 1 multiple times BEFORE we even had internet in our household. I tried to explain to him today that because he decided to beat the game in 2006 when it released offline he would not be rewarded what I did not earn until a year later.

Please EPIC update this time stamp requirement. Not only does this affect my brother but so many other fans of the game. If you agree with me please post and let EPIC know.

That sucks. That explains my friend's situation. I find it weird that you don't need a time stamp for VG, but a timestamp for a simple achievement as this?

Yes, there is no logical reason you should need a time stamp for this unlock. I have been posting in just about every thread about this in hopes that Epic will take notice. I know they have a lot of other important issues to worry about, but I would just like them to acknowledge it as broken and say that it will be fixed at some point in the future.

Well, lucky me then. But I agree with this thread, I didn't have DSL until '08. So a lot of GoW1 and 2 achivements I earned offline or playing the multi with bots. It's stupid to make people have that if none of the others have that problem.

I earned it offline as well back in 2006. Didn't have wireless back then and would have to switch the cable between the computer and Xbox. So if I didn't need to be online, it stayed in the computer.

Yeah I know. There is no way to re-earn an achievement. The only way to remedy the situation is for EPIC to step in.

I agree 100%. It really does baffle me because of all the Legacy achievements this is the one MOST LIKELY to be earned OFFLINE.

So just to clarify, do you need to have an account signed in to LIVE, or do you need to do this achievement OVER live to get it? I ask because my brother never let me play as Dom, so I never got all the Dom related achievements in Gears 1.

You just need to be CONNECTED to Xbox LIVE. That way it is recorded the date and time you completed it.

It still bothers me that Veteran Gear doesn't need a timestamp, yet this one does which is from the campaign

I don't think they can change things like that afterhand, so.. No Chrome Retro Lancer for us, or did I pull the ''can't change afterhand'' out of my bum?

Joe only said to me it needed a timestamp, he never said if they were gonna fix anything or if there was anything to fix

Considering the amount of hatred they're most likely going to end up with, since a lot of people out there seem to be angry about this, they really should just give up and unlock it for everyone, regardless. Problem solved.

I don't think that is the answer. I think that in the next update for the game they make it so that when it check for this achievement it doesn't need a timestamp. Shoudl be rather simple.

It is weird. I got the camo for beating GoW1 on insane but for the camo where you need to beat all 3 it says I never beat GoW1.

Same here, I didn't have xboxlive when I first got Gears of War. I have the achievement but no Gears 3 unlock. Also I need to get my hands on a copy of it again. I've lost mine. Maybe if you update your game, it may unlock. Anyone tried this?

The post right above yours states it will be fixed on the first TU. Now, I'll have the chrome retro.

This has been fixed for the next TU. Once it's live, the skin will pop upon pushing Start.

I got the achievement playing Insane co-op online with my friend over the internet and I don't have my skin.

Also does anyone also think that in this picture is the 4th Carmine brother or know more information?

He is the only person with that kind of armor wearing that helmet.
You may also notice he is the person which raises the landing pad in the first level when trying to reach the captain's quarters.
This character's audio also sounds closer to a Carmine then a COG Gear.

so i beat all the co-op stuff with a friend via xbox live and i dont have time stamps on any of the co-op one so does that mean they were never time stamped and if so why have some that should be obtainable and make it inpossible to actually get. i can tell you right now that the time stamp would havebeen for 11/9/2008 for me because of the fact that on that i beat the game on hard core and insane. but i still dont have the skin unlocked.

Whoa, I thought this problem was minor, apparently not. Also I'm in the same boat because I got mine offline playing split-screen. :( The time stamp thing is really annoying sometimes.
