View Full Version : Spoiler Still a bit confused on some things

I'm mainly confused on one thing: how did Myrrah find and capture Azura, and why? Prescott is obviously involved in her discovery of it somehow, but then how did she get all her Locust past the maelstrom and into the facility? Also, she's obviously capable of coming out and going in as she pleases. I just don't quite understand how. Locust submarines? I could see her getting in alone on her super-sturdy Tempest, but with all those troops? No. There has to be an answer for that, especially considering Prescott said Myrrah only captured Azura a few days before Gears 3.
I'm also confused about fuel, though. How are the Ravens still flying after the Imulsion is eliminated? Is it magic and well-wishing? Or has the Imulsion simply been "killed", but left remains that are only useful as a gas now? I can't imagine all the dead Imulsion just disintegrating, so that seems plausible I guess.
Also, why did Prescott abandon the COG? His reasons are never made all that clear. Was he running to save his own skin and head up the COG at Azura, or was he looking for a solution to the Lambent issue? His gathering of specimens for Adam followed by his return to the seabound COG seems to indicate that he was working to save humanity, but his secrecy with Azura all these years (which is essentially another, even-better Jacinto if Prescott had guarded it properly) seems to indicate that he only wanted to save himself. An interesting issue, for sure.
Just a few things I've been chewing on mentally for the past few days.

However, I don't think Prescott was in any way a coward. Azura wasn't for him.. and I don't think he ever intended to go there for safety.
I suspect what happened is...
Adam contacts Prescott (or Prescott contacts Adam), Adam says he needs specimens/data, Prescott leaves to get that information to Adam.

The impression I got was that Prescott did not intend to return to the Vectes COG citizens when he left for Azura. He said he wouldn't be back. It's obvious that he planned his departure (the databursts, the specimens, his disappearance from the vessel he took), but I just hate how hazy his intentions are. It's like Baird says, he evacuated pieces of art from the Ephyra museum. And Anya criticized him for his trillion-dollar panic room.
I can see he didn't want to run there himself, I guess, but I don't see why the "mainland" COG didn't get to know about Azura when they were in the shape they were in.

i saw someone say earlier that azura has been there pre locust and even pre prescott so maybe the statues were there before

I agree about it all being hazy though...
I was telling my friend's...
"When we find out his reasons for all the secrets.. they better be damn good. I better be agreeing with them."
I find myself having to grasp at straws a lot ;)
Myrrah had to know where Azura was guys? She had to know Adam was there working on something to help her people. Adam probably told her himself... Not that confusing.
About the ravens, someone said it would make sense that the machine only destroys wild Imulsion, not the refined stuff that is made into fuel.

Only Gears would be the series that starts off with a ton of questions and when they finally get answered theres even more confusing questions left unanswered.

perhaps a prequal of gears of war in the rise?perhaps a full story before E-DAY?i wouldn't mind playing as someone else besides the Delta Squad.

That's called a great story with lots of history.

The Myrrah thing is just plain not that simple. If you read some of the collectibles from Azura, you'll know that the scientists are basically being held prisoner there, and even a passing mention of the events back on the mainland will be met with offers for heavy therapy or spa sessions. I don't think there's any way Adam could have communicated with Myrrah while he was in Azura - not until she captured it.
As for the Imulsion, that's possible. But I don't think the stuff was that refined - the COG ran out of fuel while on Vectes and spent a good few months drilling a wild supply that the stalks accidentally caused to crop up. I personally think, like any other living thing, the Imulsion just left remains, and the remains still work as fuel.
