I'm feeling a sense of Déjà vu, it's the Reavers/Derricks at the start of Gears 2 all over again, i spent hours on it and in the end decided i wasn't going to subject myself to it anymore and stopped. As with that bit I'm getting the same with the Leviathan on insane, as in i cannot see how i could shoot it anymore then i am. Then there's the borderline 1 hit kill polyps who ignore everyone else and swarm me like the winning quarterback (i mean what are the silverbacks made of... grass? i survive longer on foot)
Am i missing something? i partially tempted to go back this bit again on Hardcore as it only took a few tries (as soon as i came across it i knew this would happen on insane, that it would be like the Gears 2 section mentioned) but it's just getting boring.

use your rockets in the silver back in moderation and only shoot them at the eye....use one then blast with the gun.....so on until you pass. its what i did.

I found a relatively safe place to camp out and fire on the Leviathan.
As you enter the area where the Leviathan pops up, to far right there's a space between a (yellow if I remember) shipping cannister/crate and the wall, stand between them and if anything (polyps, glowies) attempts to attack you, they'll have to funnel in front of you so you shouldn't be attacked from the sides or rear.

Done, no thanks to the advice Marcus shouts, i only shot it in the mouth on the final time, first time i tried it.
Good stuff, the submarine section is playing on my mind, hoping it isn't a similar situation.

heres what I did...
each time you 'dislodge' the leviathan, go ack into the gate you came through to enter the deck. go a little ways down the stairs, let the AI take came of the drudges unless its right in front of you, and NEVER use the rockets. its too slow...
this forces the polyps to funnel through the chokepoint... once theyre all gone, rinse and repeat.
theres a sweet spot to the chain gun, just like the mulcher, where you can have almost continuous fire without a long cooling period. you have to find it... and shoot in the mouth.
