View Full Version : I am sad about the ending...

THIS THREAD CONTAINS MAJOR PLOT SPOILERS TO THE PLOT OF GEARS OF WAR 3

I was in tears when Marcus killed the locust queen. It was the saddest thing ever. I am now depressed due to it as she didn't even do anything to dom, that was the Leblanc. I thought the ending would be the queen just joins the humans or atleast survives (captured?) but no, Marcus has to be a dick and do that to her.

Her cry is so innocent, I had to turn off my console when I saw it.

BONUS 20 DOLLAR MICROSOFT POINT CARD: If someone writes up a ending that involves the locust queen surviving and I think it is the best I shall give 20 dollars worth of microsoft points.

I felt sympathy for her until she said that everyone not-Locust had to perish, during the fight. It was either Locust or Human. It couldn't be both.

She only said that because they weren't going to listen to her at all and her whole family was at risk. She was pissed off.

And you call yourself a locust...

While I would have to agree with you on the prospect of peace between the Locust and Humans, I simply don't think it could have happened. Too much bad blood between the two sides. Fourteen plus years of a genocidal war between the two won't go unnoticed in a matter of a few hours at most. Do you blame the humans for wanting to kill those that attacked them on E-Day? Those that killed their families and loves ones?

Dom gave up on life because the locust killed his wife and kids. Hense why he stabbed her.

Think of the locust like ants, you kill the queen the workers all die.

The Queen gets up after her "Tempest" is destroyed.

Then when Marcus tries to stab her, she grabs the knife and jams it into his neck then grabs his lancer shoots Jace, and then chainsaws Anya. She then sprints away and tries to escape Azura. Along the way she sees Carmine and right when he puts on his helmet she shoots him in the head blowing his head off. The queen then escapes by swimming away, she lived happily ever after in a little cottage drinking tea.

Marcus grabs her by the throat, his eyes glaze over as he starts to realise that she is in fact his Mum and there is a flashback of her, he couldn't remember her face (due to trauma) since he seen her "body" which was all a cover up for her to leave and help the Locust. Marcus's eyes unglaze and his grip loosens, he looks into hers and says..... "Mummy........."

The End.

Nah, if she would have lived, I would have preferred it would be like this;

Marcus: *to delta* "Hold your fire!"
*Queen does her tirade about Locust having the right to live, and that Adam only had clever ways to kill*
*Marcus, instead of stabbing the Queen, hits her in the face to shut her up, slightly cutting up her cheek with Dom's knife. The Queen falls silent because of this.*
Marcus: "Let's go Delta... She isn't worth it."

Then they walk off, leaving the Queen beside her dying people, having to accept that her people, the Locust, are all dead.

Sorry, I've got no sympathy for that b*tch. She wanted Adam Fenix's weapon to do the opposite: wipe out imulsion parasite and kill the humans as well as lambent.

Adam fenix should of sat with the locust queen for some tea and explained to her why he had to do it and it wasn't because he hated her or anything. Instead, just ignores her and tells delta to keep firing

This man wins the internet.

More should have been done with the question about if it was actually morally right to commit genocide against the Locust. They go back underground with no Imulsion left to turn the Lambent, they don't have to invade, humans don't have to deal with their crap, everyone eats Poptarts.

Personally, I was a little sad because ultimately it could have been handled in a better way.

I would have preferred more morals to the ending. Something like this:

-Locust die-
-Queen crawls from her beetle's corpse and give her speech about how Adam Fenix was only a destroyer-
-Marcus grabs her by the throat-
He says: For the record;
1. My Father wanted to save the locust just as much as you did. But Prescott imprisoned him, so he didn't have a chance to.
2. Instead of thinking of a way to spring him, you spent 12 years waging a war you couldn't win.
3. the ***** of it all is that if you had told me what was going on I would have moved heaven and earth to help. If you had done that think of how many could have been saved? It was your arrogance and distrust, not my father's, that doomed the locust."
-Marcus throws the queen to the ground- "I suggest you think about that."

end scene.

What sympathy the locust deserved it yes they had to leave the underground because of the imulsion was infecting them, but there was no reason to start another war killing millions of innocent humans. They could of told the humans about the imulsion and Adam could of helped explain instead they attacked. The queen deserved to die to me she got the easy way out

I dunno, I think the best way the Queen would've survived is if it took her longer to get out from underneath her "Tempest".

Marcus and Delta would be long gone, thinking that Myrrah was buried underneath the heap of the dead insect. But when she finally escapes, the once-Queen would find herself at a barren Azura, her only company various dead Gears, Locust and of course, the dusty remains of Adam Fenix. It'd be night around this time, leaving Myrrah bruised, battered and exhausted. Slowly, she begins to discard her heavy gauntlets, tossing them aside as they only serve to tire her ever more-so. Eventually, all of her armor is completely cast away, leaving only the red-leather outfit underneath. Her silver spiked helmet hits the stone floor with a soft clatter, revealing Myrrah's near-golden cropped hair shining in what little light was merited by the waning sun. A solemn and melancholy sigh escapes her lungs, as the former-Queen of the Horde gazes upon the setting sun and realizes that despite how close they were to being granted a new horizon... the sun has set on her people.

To her right, she spots a deceased Theron guard, killed by a trio of rifle rounds adoring his chest, his large scaly hands clasped to both a Hammerburst rifle and an diamond-esque cutout of the Horde insignia. Approaching the Locust carefully, as if not to disturb her loyal follower's now endless and peaceful slumber. A gentle hand moves upwards to shut the Theron's eyes as Myrrah's other moves to gently uplift the hammerburst from his dead grip. Again, she is careful, not to disturb the rest of her loyal minion that died for her and... because of her. Moving her other gloved mitt to grasp the Horde emblem, tugging it out of the Theron's hand lightly before standing and gazing once more over the sunset. She would avenge those that died, one way or another. Their sacrifice would not be in vain.

The hardest thing about ending, is beginning again. And Queen Myrrah was not at her end. Her brow furrows deeply, her soft skin wrinkling faintly to show her turmoil. The humans may have been victorious for now, but this was not the end. This would not her people's tomorrow; to be forgotten by history and remembered only as a nightmarish myth from the deep. Emitting one final sigh, one final breath of cold air of reprieve, Myrrah, former hierarch of her beloved people turns to forget Azura, leave it behind like a scarring memory deep within the recesses of her mental consciousness.

She would return. Perhaps not the next day, or even the next week for that matter. But one way or another... Queen Myrrah would return. She will fight and fight and fight, until she won or until she died. And She was not dead yet.

---

Eh, something I typed up right off the top of my head. Probably not the best, but oh well :p. Despite me believing that Myrrah was overly crazy in the coconut, I will give to her that she was one hell of a girl. Determined, fearless, the type that would not give up even in the face of death. Explains why she taunted Marcus even though she probably knew she was going to die. Gotta respect someone for that, no matter how loony they are :D.

I strongly believe that a very small number of Locust survived; those that had lived on the surface most of their lives in the War and thus not exposed to Imulsion. Were the Queen to survive, I could imagine her trying to locate these survivors though their force would be... miniscule in comparison to humans. It'd be like a reverse E-day, where the Locust are outnumbered and outgunned by Humans :p.

I might have had some sympathy for the Locust if they hadn't attacked and killed everyone the way they did. I can understand wanting to save yourself from the Lambent, but that's no excuse for human genocide. They all deserved what they got.

You mean lambent, and yes it was her fault.

Before ANY of the lambent showed up, the locust that SHE ORDERED to pursue Marcus and co. showed up and cut them off from Jace and Dizzy who were waiting at the truck.

Had they not shown up, they would have made it to the pick up and been on their way to Char with Dom in tow.

Serious?

Marcus fought and lost almost everything he got for almost his whole life, he lost Tai, Dom, his father and alot more. He saw others losing everything, and you think that Marcus IS NOT pissed of at the Queen?
You are sir, are an imbicile

But to the other hand, the Locust got terrorised by the Lambent, even before E-Day and she knew that humans were fighting TO GET Imulsion, deciding that Humans are monsters for killing each other to get something as Imulsion

So, to sum this all up.
Blame Imulsion, not Marcus for losing everything
